The driver software is nicely laid out and is easy to understand. It’s here you can change and/or edit things like pen pressure, change the display settings, re-map the shortcut keys etc. I tend to find most shortcut key commands on these devices already have the best/most used options already set, but it’s great you can amend if you so wish (I tend not to use them as I’m so used to using a keyboard!). Photoshop is a great example, because it’s genuinely well-designed software. There are shortcut keys for most functions, the layering interface is straightforward, and there are tons of powerful tools. But when you’re working from scratch, it’s still difficult to draw even basic shapes with precision. You can be using the best design software on the most powerful PC, and it won’t matter. A mouse just wasn’t made to work that way. So instead of blaming your software or your computer, why not take a look at your interface? I didn’t experience any lagging, even when scribbling away quite fast. Drawing ever-so-sloooooooowly did produce a slight ‘wobble’ in straight lines, but to be fair, you’re going to get that on most tablets. The end of the lines also tapered very nicely. Along with the display itself, you get a bunch of accessories to help you along. To begin with, there’s a stylus, with a sturdy aluminum shaft and built-in control button. The actual nib is replaceable, and there are 10 spares included in the kit. Even if you’re using the stylus constantly, it will take a long time to wear through that many nibs. There’s a two-fingered drawing glove, which keeps you from accidentally triggering the screen with your hand while you’re working. There’s a cleaning cloth, so you can keep the screen clear of dust and smudges. There’s also a three-tipped connection cable and a USB extension cord. We’ll talk more about those in a moment. The driver will run automatically after being installed. If it does not run automatically, go to the driver folder to run it manually. If multiple monitors are used in duplicate mode, the work area of the device will be mapped to all monitors. When the pen moves in the work area, the cursor on all monitors will move at the same time. Flip it over and on the reverse are the four rubber feet in each corner to keep it stable on your desk – note there is no stand supplied with this tablet (or pen holder for that matter!) 😊Color temperature: The driver enables five modes, i.e., low blue light, 6500K (default), 7500K, 9300K, and USER. In the USER mode, color temperature can be customized by adjusting the R, G and B values.

Press the power key to turn on the device. The indicator light will remain blue when the device is on. Press the power key again to turn off the device. The screen is nice and bright, colors looked excellent and the image was pin-sharp. Working in a bright, but naturally lit room, I didn’t encounter any distracting glares or reflections. If you’re a visual artist, creating digital work can feel unnatural. Think of how you’d normally do a drawing, or paint a picture. You’d sit over a notebook, or behind an easel, and use a pencil or paintbrush to create your artwork. Now think about how you interact with popular software like Adobe Photoshop. If you’re like most people, you probably use a mouse and keyboard. A mouse and keyboard are great for many things. They’re fine for navigating the web, typing, and playing most types of video games. But they fall short when you need to create smooth, precise artwork. The express keys along the side of the Artist 12 tablet are customizable to suit your workflow. You can also have different profiles of keyboard shortcuts for the different apps you work in. So you can have one set assigned for painting in Krita while having another for sculpting in Blender. As usual, all the main creative software apps will work with this like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator (actually all the Adobe CC apps!), SAI, Corel, GIMP, Krita, Blender 3D, Clip Studio and MediBang etc.
