About this deal

Any change to these Terms and Conditions apply to Customers following a period of 72 hours after they are placed online. Article 17 – Complaints The first couple stories aren't terribly strong and don't make a great introduction to the series (though they're certainly not as bad as the Soviet and Congo stories which were the first actual Tintin episodes and are - for better or worse - not included in this set.) Notwithstanding the above, Boutique Tintin undertakes not to disclose or sell any information of any kind whatsoever concerning the Customer to third parties. Article 12 – Compliance The Adventures of Tintin continue to charm nearly 95 years after they first found their way into publication. Since then more than 230 million copies have been sold, proving that comic books have the same power to entertain children and adults in the 21st century as they did in the early 20th. Before going into what I liked and what bothered me about the series, I will make a recommendation to start reading with album no.4 Cigars of the Pharaoh as the first three books were quite bad regarding both the drawing skills and the ethnic insensitivity of the author. They are standalones and can be read later as research material into the development of the main characters and the growing awareness of Herge regarding world issues. Plus, No4. introduces two of my favorite characters from the collection : Thomson and Thompson. The Red Sea Sharks was named one of Young Bond author Charlie Higson’s favourite books in The Daily Express: 'Tintin was a huge inspiration being a young person in an adult world.” - (2015)

The Red Sea Sharks was named one of Young Bond author Charlie Higson’s favourite books in The Daily Express: “Tintin was a huge inspiration being a young person in an adult world.” (2015) While the Adventures of Tintin has aged pretty well, for the most part, some of it is an unfortunate product of its time. This set isn’t the complete series as the second book, Tintin in the Congo, a grossly racist piece of pro-colonial propaganda, isn’t included. You’re not missing out on much with its absence. In the case of dispute or complaint, the customer may call on consumer mediation services ( http://www.mediationconsommateur.be), on the BeCommerce Dispute Committee ( https://www.becommerce.be) or on the Online Dispute Resolution Platform ( http://ec.europa.eu/odr). His best known and most substantial work is The Adventures of Tintin comic book series, which he wrote and illustrated from 1929 until his death in 1983, leaving the twenty-fourth Tintin adventure Tintin and Alph-Art unfinished. His work remains a strong influence on comics, particularly in Europe. Tintin shows young readers that the world in all its complexity is theirs to bestride. The Wall Street Journal The final volume is an interesting collection of trivia about the characters in the series. It manages to somehow include a fair bit of information about Herge and Tintin's publishing history, but it seems like a really strange way to present that information. I would have much rather had a proper retrospective, biography, and more excerpts from Tintin in the Land of the Soviets, Tintin in the Congo, and the unfinished final book: Tintin and Alph-Art.
