About this deal

I'd like to see Sigma offer their Contemporary Series primes in options that Fuji owners don't have - eg the 65/2 and better still the lightweight 90/2.

Just to recap, the ethos of Sigma’s Contemporary lenses is to offer high performance whilst keeping them as compact and lightweight as possible. was not bad, but it has distortion and some epic purple halos in high contrast edges, it was sharp but not incredibly sharp either, the third one was the 16mm f1. Like others have noted it's peculiar to say the least to include a full frame DSLR lens (the mirrorless version just has a built in extension tube) in this list. While there are lots of portrait lenses for the Micro Four Thirds system, particularly around the 42.Unlike smartphones, the OM System TG-7 is designed to take a licking and keep on ticking, whether on land or underwater.

However, since we have no hard data, any predictions on the evolution of the X-mount userbase are only speculations.Completely agree there are gaps in the X mount system, but the Sigma business model is based on variations of a theme – the same lenses in different mount fittings. Fast continuous shooting, reliable autofocus and great battery life are just three of the most important factors. With in-camera optical corrections switched off, vignetting is noticeable, with corners appearing approximately 1.

This year, plenty of amazing cameras, lenses, accessories and other products came through our doors.Nikon's latest Z-mount lens is a 600mm you can handhold for hours for wildlife and sports photography or pack away for travel when you want to leave the monopod and tripod at home. Mount the E version of the 56mm on a Sony body like the A6000 series, and it’ll deliver equivalent coverage of 84mm, while the Micro Four Thirds version results in 112mm coverage. The aesthetic of out-of-focus specular highlights at wide apertures is pleasing too, with nicely rendered circular highlights in the centre of the frame. Three of Sigma’s contemporary prime lenses were announced as becoming available for the Nikon Z mount in April 2023, following on from options available for Fujifilm, Canon, Leica L and Micro Four Thirds.

A study of our Image Engineering Tests reveals the lens is sharper in the centre than at the edge throughout the aperture range. DC DN is coming to X mount though, this little amazing zoom lens would be great for one lens traveling. is kind of large for what it is, you should figure out what your focal length preferences are before tossing too much money around, tho these Sigmas are pretty inexpensive for what they are so it's not an altogether terrible way of doing so if you can swing it.with its impressive central sharpness, shallow depth of field and a fast fall-off making it very suitable for portraiture and other subjects where an attractive separation between subject and background is desired. It really depends on the nature of the shoot, the spacing, the subjects, the backgrounds, the story. Although the Sigma has a different finish to Fujifilm bodies and lenses that I’m used to, it still feels and looks good on the camera. There are some really interesting older Sigma lenses that were made in F mount that would be really nice on X mount.
