About this deal

The Slaves to Darkness battletome combines all the Daemons that previously had no real home and the iconic Chaos Warriors and their ilk into one cohesive whole.

Also included are Path to Glory campaign rules for your army, matched play grand strategies, battle tactics, and core battalions, and warscrolls upon warscrolls upon warscrolls. Double turns themselves – that is when you go second in one battle round and then first in the next round after winning the priority roll – are potentially game swinging events that often can completely change the dynamic of the game. This is not unusual but you will feel it hard in Slaves to Darkness if a unit gets caught out alone.

I really dislike this because there’s several things that have to happen for this ability to even apply (Pass a 67% chance dice roll, and have an injured unit within 18″) and the effect isn’t even that potent. It has a CV of 7 and if successfully cast you may do D3 mortal wounds to an enemy unit within 18″ of the caster and visible. Slaves to Darkness are the (largely) mortal worshippers of Chaos Gods who are still sampling the buffet and have not yet dedicated themselves (entirely) to a single God, though they may have a Mark which bestows some Godly favours. The Daemon Prince is an absolute beast on the battlefield, with options to outfit him with huge wings that give him a fly speed of 12", a trophy rack completely ignoring battleshock tests for friendly units within 9" of him, and a choice of three weapons: a Daemonic Axe, a Hellforged Sword, or Malefic Talons. There’s also the option to build a Doom Knight champion, with a Doom Flail, for the Chaos Knights to give extra Doom.

The benefit from the general’s aura however is very powerful because there are a lot of armies that go heavy on spells and this provides a serious survivability boost (especially when you consider that a lot of Chaos units also have 5+ shrugs for mortal wounds on top of that). You could also go full madman and take Kairos Fateweaver and pair him with Archaon to fish for the slayer of kings instant death proc using Kairos’ one off ability.

She has an ability where if issuing the inspiring presence command while inside the enemy territory she can give it up to 2 Darkoath or Cultist units. These are currently 170 points for a five and sadly often used more like semi-survivable chaff rather than delivering the hammerstrike you may be wishing for, I am afraid you need to look to Varanguard for that. The warscroll cards, enhancement cards, and token sheets detailed above are exclusive to the Slaves to Darkness Army Set, and will not be available separately at a future date. For example Chaos Warriors with the Nurgle mark can be taken in the Nurgle allegiance freely without needing to be allied in. Helm of Many Eyes: The bearer and their mount (if they have one) fight at the start of the combat phase if they charged in the same turn, but cannot fight again in that phase unless an ability or spell allows them to fight more than once.

Ally considerations: Blades of Khorne offer several impressive buff vectors, like Bloodstokers and Aspiring Deathbringers, that can make charges easier and our melee units attack more respectively. This summoning is more impactful in smaller games and the ability to bring in ten marauders is very nice. The only option in our start collecting box though is hand weapon and shield, giving 2 3+ 3+ 0 rend 1 D attacks, I haven’t found Warriors very killy in any variation but they can do some work against light armour and can be considered an OK anvil. If they suffer any wounds, they add 1 to wound rolls in the same phase as they strike back with fury. They also don’t have markings for any specific god so can be painted to suit your taste in appalling extra-dimensional overlord or overlords.Radiance of Dark Glory: In your hero phase, you may pick a friendly Despoilers unit wholly within 18″ of the general and roll a dice, on a 3+ that unit heals D3 wounds. and it has fast elements which can also pin units in place while you bring your Chaos Warriors and Darkoath Savagers to bear. The Chaos Gods are the ‘Big Bad’ of the setting and have had a huge trove of lore written about them over decades, so please forgive the rough edges of what follows…. Your healing options in Slaves are limited so be aware that, if focused, this Lord will go down quick.

The Slaanesh Warshrine prayer allows reroll to charges for a nearby unit which is a nice bonus if you expect a sketchy charge later on in the turn. Their army set includes 14 new miniatures – a Daemon Prince, 10 Chaos Chosen, and three Ogroid Theridons.

You stomp around the battlefield with smaller units (who are still full of plenty of wounds and have plenty of attacks to dish out), unleashing your ferocity on your opponent. This is a huge flavor win and it’s great if your hero in question is a cheap Chaos lord on foot where it becomes a straight upgrade. They’re all about empowering your spells and to that end they possess the ability to cast Binding Rituals. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. You can also build them with wings to allow them to fly or give them a trophy rack of skulls which lets friendly units within 9" of them ignore battleshock tests.
