About this deal

Perhaps the only minor gripe I can present is that since these do feature an on-ear design, some might find the direct pressure on your ears uncomfortable over longer sessions. In my testing, I didn’t encounter discomfort, but your mileage may vary. Despite the tight grip and on-ear design, these hold up pretty well even if you wear glasses, but some might prefer more plush over-ear cups over this style. You would generally be requested to enter the supplied activation code to activate the software and allow you to use the software on your specified computer or laptop. Here at Sennheiser we use dynamic microphones for distortion measurements on loudspeakers at very high sound pressure levels. At Sennheiser we have measured the SPL and THD inside a large 2" driver/horn combination with a MD 421. The max SPL this combination was able to produce was 150 dB and the THD level recorded by a MD 421 was below 1% (produced by the driver not by the mic) Soft over-ear memory foam cushions covered with resilient, CO2 neutral, and highly comfortable Alcantarar, ideal for longer sessions.

The HD25s also feature a high-strength, detachable, single-sided cable which allows you to easily detach it for added portability. The detachable cable can also be replaced if you ever lose or damage it, meaning you don't have to get rid of the entire set of headphones and buy new ones. The padded, sturdy headband is designed for added comfort, combining with the earpads for a comfortable listening experience. Features Updated for 2020, Sennheiser’s HD25 Lights now sound almost identical to the more expensive models in the range. So as a conclusion we can state the MD 421 has no maximum SPL limitations for practical use. However if using dynamic microphones at high SPL levels a user should be aware that the very high voltage (up to several volts) delivered by the microphone might cause problems when connected to mic preamps. All DJ headphones are designed to do exactly the same thing: they’ve got to be clear and loud to help you monitor your mixes, and they’ve got to be comfortable enough to use for an extended period. The way manufacturers go about achieving that can differ quite substantially in practice. Just look at the different design approaches between the Sennheiser HD25 and the Denon DJ HP1100 for example.

Timeless and robust DJ and recording booth favourites

All of the options on our list offer good sound for their respective price points. There is a marked increase in clarity as you progress to more expensive models, but even the cheaper models on our list are well suited to basic use for mixing at home. Build and portability Danish brand AIAIAI take the idea of customisation to extreme levels, offering a huge range of optional drivers, ear cups, cables and headbands for their TMA-2 headphones. The modular design means that owners can customise and tweak the headphones into thousands of different configurations to suit their personal needs, whether it’s for DJ use, studio production or just listening. We offer free delivery on all of our items (UK mainland only) please see details below. Destination Boasting some of the biggest drivers on the market at 53mm, there’s no doubt that Denon’s flagship HP1100 headphones have been designed with bass response very much in mind. That’s evident in their sound presentation, which is heavy on bottom end but doesn’t sacrifice clarity or precision as a result. The EAH-DJ1200 is an upgraded version of the bestselling RP-DJ1210 model, and it’s very much in keeping with the no-nonsense approach of the brand’s turntables. The EAHs have a slightly old-school look to them when compared to the sleek, smooth aesthetic of the AIAIAI model above, but it’s very much a case of function over form here, with a focus on durability and comfort to match the powerful, clear sound.

The new HD 25 Light has the same technical specification as the larger model. Compared to the older Light edition, its frequency response opens up considerably more, from the former 30 to 16,000 Hertz to 16 to 22,000 Hertz. The slightly increased impedance to 61,4 Ohm (averaged) compensates for the significantly increased sound pressure level of 120 decibels (according to the manufacturer’s specifications). Free silver solder SS-47 for high sound quality and environmental friendliness. Reasonably priced. Manufactured in Japan under strict production control. Only the best sound. The Sennheiser HD25s are premium quality, high-performance headphones designed for music enthusiasts and digital musicians. The ultra-wide frequency response (16 Hz - 22kHz) makes them ideal for both monitoring and casual listening, allowing you to hear every nuance of the original sound as it was intended.

Notes:Wireless music creation with ultra-low latency and uncompressed audio with W+ Link technology. As always, the capsules can be rotated and the split headband ensures a perfect fit, not matter how hard you find yourself nodding your head while in the mix. Even if you find yourself mixing for long periods of time, the Sennhesier HD25 remain comfortable and they’re built to last – with a tough single-sided cable which can be detached if required. Velour cushions are very comfortable to wear, even if it gets a little hotter and the "normal" cushions otherwise drip with sweat. originally got these strictly for Dj'ing. Been using them for almost a year for that. Never listened to music on them really. They are great DJ headphones.

The first thing to do is ensure that you have the audio plug of the headphones connected securely into the audio device. A properly connected cable should not wiggle. If the plug wiggles that could indicate a loose connection. NOTE: This could be a result of the cable not being plugged all the way in or it could be a faulty input or sometimes if the device you are connecting to has a case on it the case will prevent the cable plugging in correctly. The X10s and slightly cheaper X7s are fantastic headphones, but with the X5s you can see many of the same design ideas and engineering principles applied to a much more affordable model. They use slightly smaller drivers than the bigger models (40mm as opposed to 50mm) but the technical specs are largely irrelevant if the sound lives up to expectations, which is certainly true with the X5s. They may be less than a third of the price of the flagship model, but in practice they’re much closer in sound and build than the price difference might suggest. More info/Buy ProsA common sight in DJ booths around the world since the 90s, the Sennheiser HD25 is the choice of professional DJs – the “industry-standard” DJ headphone. With a frequency range of 16 to 22,000 Hz and high sensitivity due to the lightweight aluminium voice coils, the latest generation of HD25 delivers accurate sound reproduction. Notes:A new refined model of the HPC-HD25 series, more suitable for the field, is now available from the NEO brand!
