About this deal

s Temple Of Low Men drew critical acclaim and platinum awards with Finn crafting a set of intense & personal songs revealing his true mastery of melody – highlights including “When You Come”, “I Feel Possessed” & the defining “Better Be Home Soon”. One notable achievement for Crowded House is being the only New Zealand band to reach #2 on the US Billboard Singles chart with their hit single "Don't Dream It's Over." Their unique sound and captivating performances continue to captivate audiences around the world. What's weird is the claim this hasn't been on vinyl before. It has. Unless I'm misreading/understanding all of this: Key 1999 compilation album Afterglow features a selection of rarities & outtakes recorded between 1985 and 1994 including “I Love You Dawn” & “Recurring Dream” & is rightly regarded as an essential album in the catalogue & rounds out the campaign.

In fact there's even an orange pressing already... the catalog numbers are off by one when you compare this 2019 pressings and this "new" one that hits at the end of this year. In recognition of their contributions to music, Crowded House was honored with induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame by the Australian Recording Industry Association in November 2016. Throughout their career, they have been associated with similar artists such as Split Enz, Midnight Oil, Neil Finn (solo), Paul Kelly, and many others. Much of the album is about trying to hold on to hope amid squalor and discord. To the Island could be a paean to the safety of a long-term relationship, or to the Finns’ native New Zealand: “The world is beyond us (shit just got real) / It’s too enormous (fell under the wheel) / But the island is just right / It’s the perfect size,” Neil sings, before the coda pushes the song from a bedtime lullaby into gentle paisley psychedelia. After the bands breakup in 1996 & subsequent reunion with 2007’s Time On Earth following the death of founding member Paul Hester, 2010’s Intriguer is the sixth and latest studio record from the band ironizing the commercial & artistic longevity of the group with Finn's durable song-craft never failing to enthral across highlights “Saturday Sun” & “Falling Dove”. Originally issued on CD in 2010, The Very Very Best Of Crowded House is set to make its long-awaited vinyl debut on 12 July through Capitol Records/Universal Music. The band’s third studio album Woodface in 1991 spawned a remarkable European following with their first UK Top 10 & hit singles “Weather With You”, “Fall At Your Feet”, “It’s Only Natural” & “Chocolate Cake” underpinning the bands commercial heights whilst still maintaining their effortless style & attitude for which they are still adored.

With a fortuitous triumvirate of anniversaries in 2016 consisting of the 30th Anniversary of the debut self-titled album, 25th Anniversary of the International trophy-piece Woodface & 20th Anniversary of the legendary Farewell To The World Sydney Opera House concert – September 16th 2016 will see the all-encompassing & unprecedented reissue campaign launch across the bands entire catalogue. Selected items are only available for delivery via the Royal Mail 48® service and other items are available for delivery using this service for a charge.Somehow all of it feels seamless, but be warned: as with Time on Earth (2007) and Intriguer (2010), you won’t find anything approaching Don’t Dream It’s Over here, or anything that sounds much like the Crowded House Generation X grew up with. Like Neil Finn’s sometimes esoteric solo work, these songs – a dozen, all less than four minutes – are more detailed, more subtle, and take more time to reveal themselves. Dreamers Are Waiting is the first Crowded House album since 2010, and the band has expanded to a full-blown family affair. Alongside Elroy, older brother Liam is now a full-time multi-instrumental member, while Tim Finn (last seen on a Crowded House album on Together Alone, in 1993) gets a co-writing credit on Too Good for This World. Mitchell Froom, who produced the band’s first three albums, replaces Mark Hart on keyboards.

Crowded House hold a special place in music history...boasting seven albums between 1986 and 2010, Crowded House are true trailblazers. Their poetic lyricism, supreme songwriting prowess and timeless aesthetic have provided a careful balance of critical success and enduring mainstream appeal over 30 years, across the globe.
