Fresh out of the box we’re left with 4 parts: the main figure, an additional hair part as well as the handle including ferrule and the bristles making up her paint brush (the tea cup is my own x3).

Oui wears a plethora of kanzashi in her hair as well, I especially like the gold one’s with the little flowers on them, but they all look quite good. The brush is indeed impressive and beautiful. I really love how the colors mesh together and the floral decorations look particularly great. The bristles stained with ink look good too. Attaching the additional hair part is fairly easy though, as the peg has a very distinct shape and unlike the brush this construction works. I daresay even bigger figures like ITEM #464632 are okay, if you think of Oui as a sort of little fairy or something. X3 Oui greets us with a rather aloof expression, maybe with a glint of curiosity in her eyes. The face works from a variety of angles and that small mouth is just too cute. :3

Getting the brush to stay in Oui's hand definitely requires some force, because the plastic used for her hands is pretty soft and bendable.

Oui has no scale given and considering her sitting pose measuring her would be pretty pointless. Despite her petite stature and her proportions not even matching 1/8 figures like ITEM #331626 & ITEM #330951 , she’ll work with a lot of kimono-/yukata-clad figures.

Maybe it’s just me but I do think the feet look really cute in that pose. The tabi and zouri are pretty well-done, with the seam line and lacquered paint.

The kimono, especially the Obi, is no less elaborate than the hair accessories. We can find the floral decorations again. Yet the paintjob is really unclean. You don’t even have to look particularly closely to see that much. Still, the sculpt is pretty impressive and it’s an ambitious design for sure. The long sleeves are neatly folded behind her, but there are some scratches on them and again the paint is rather uneven. Still love the print though, especially the little white birds.

The brush takes a lot of space, making Oui a bit of a space-hog (compared to other noodle stoppers at least). Now this is a first and imo it’s kinda ridiculous, but the instruction sheet actually tells you to glue the brush together? Because the fit is indeed beyond loose… Contrary to the clothing her hands aren’t all that impressive, with rough leftover mold lines on them.
