Andrea is keen to promote themes such as love, hope, curiosity, passion and persistence in all her work. Only thing I didn’t like is that there are a couple of references to things that (I think) happened in the picture book, and that aren’t explained well. Further developing her friendships with Ada Twist and Iggy Peck, as well as the adults and mentors in her life, Rosie (like Ada) shows readers that failure is a path to success. Read-aloud sessions are a wonderful way for children to understand the connection between written text and spoken language.

It seems like the riveters were a new group of people in Rosie's life, yet the whole book is her doing a service project for someone she's never met. Will no doubt inspire conversations with children about the benefits of failure and the pursuit of dreams. A variety of activities can be used to differentiate instruction, offer students a choice, or focus on a particular skill.

This concept picture book revolves around the positive trait of persistence in planning and experimentation while pursuing desirable goals.

We were having a hard time putting all the dots together and for a kids chapter book it shouldn't be that hard. This School Library Journal Best Book of the Year celebrates everything butterfly, from migration to metamorphosis! Helping the Riveters is a great message about the joy derived from helping others, for the young future STEAM designers of the future.

Students will enjoy hearing about Rosie’s inventions and listening to the upbeat rhyme in this book.
