Many brands claim that their headphones are catered to consumers who are "on the go," but usually this sort of language refers more to going to the coffee shop for a latte than, say, going on a trek through the Andes. Jaybird, however, is more interested in the latter, and its newest pair of true wireless earbuds is designed to be your companion through even the most extreme of journeys. Finally, I've been pleasantly surprised with the quality of the microphone as I have had no complaints during phone calls and I use them regularly for work.

After installing both the gel "sweatshield" and the smaller ear tips, I feel these are very secure in my ears. Not sure I could play basketball, but the treadmill weightlifting poses no issues. Other earbuds I've had I felt like I was always adjusting so they don't fall out. These seem good!

When Jaybird says that the Vista 2 True Wireless Sport Earbuds are built for athletes and adventurers, they mean it. To begin with, the company claims to have pioneered a "signature fit" to help the earbuds stay in your ears while climbing, running, biking, etc. They also come with three sizes of interchangeable "eargels" that, Jaybird claims, will make you forget that they're even in your ears. Fit is enormously important with active headphones, and when we reviewed the Vista 2's predecessors -- the Jaybird Vista -- we found they delivered in that department. There are multiple ways in which a connection can end up becoming interrupted or result in an unsuccessful pairing. And one of those reasons stems from a previously connected device. The batteries usually last about 4 hours before they need to be charged by the case that comes included. The case itself can charge the earbuds 4 or 5 times before it needs to be charged itself. The battery life is decent, but could definitely be better. 4 hours is just enough to get me through to my lunch break – at which time I return them to the charging case. The 1 hour of charging is usually enough to get me through to the end of the day (although I frequently have to take the out when I receive phone calls, or have to talk to co-workers).My biggest concern with True Wireless Earbuds is they will be too bulk or will constantly fall out. The JBL Frees does not do either! They are very slim in the ear profile which I liked and I used the standard earpiece they have and they did not fall out. I worked out in these while lifting weights, running, and playing sports and they did not fall out once. Very impressed! These aren't going to blow you away, (they are not terribly loud), but the sound quality is good and I have not had the connectivity issues that I have read about regarding the previous generation / iteration of them.
