About this deal

This is not a friends-to-lovers book, I know, but similarly, they were in each other’s lives for a long time. In their case, the heroine Vienna was Dane’s personal assistant for 4 years. She was the only one who could stay in this position for so long because she was perfect. They always acted professionally with each other. Although the heroine had a secret crush on him, nothing ever happened in those 4 years. There are a few grammar mistakes (not too many), such as the use of the verb “ effect” instead of “ affect” etc. The hero is a mystery for most of the time and without his voice, I wondered what his intentions and feelings were until they were finally revealed. In this twisty new stand-alone novel from internationally bestselling author Nicci French, a young woman agrees to do a favor for an estranged former boyfriend—but when things go horribly wrong, one small task turns into a murder investigation that completely upends her life, ensnaring her in a deadly web of secrets and lies.

As Jude gets herself more and more enmeshed in what was Liam’s bohemian life, do her choices stretch the bounds of credibility? Most decidedly. But, a bit like a train crash, it’s hard to look away. The Favor" is about a woman who feels the same way about her steady high school boyfriend. She hasn't seen him in 15 years, and in the meantime she's gotten married and had a child. But she still obsesses about him, and in her imagination he has grown up into an ideal man, a hunk who is also smart and tender.Neither narrator is unreliable. They always tell us the truth. And their truth hurts. A lot. Because these two attractive, intelligent professional women are living in a hell of their husband’s making. And there is no way to get out of hell. Is there? Jude twijfelt, maar stemt dan toch toe. Ze verzwijgt dit echter wel voor haar verloofde. Maar als het zover is, komt Liam niet opdagen... Jude besluit te wachten en niet veel later krijgt ze een telefoontje van de politie. Dit zet haar leven totaal op zijn kop. Someone who could give me the things that Dane would never be able to give, just as Owen had pointed out. “A family,” I replied. “And a cat.” Jude is een succesvolle arts en is gelukkig met haar verloofde Nat. Maar dan duikt opeens haar eerste liefde, Liam, op in het ziekenhuis waar ze werkt. Hun relatie was, jaren eerder, op dramatische wijze beëindigd en sindsdien hebben ze elkaar niet meer gezien. Liam vraagt haar om een bijzondere gunst: zou ze hem in het weekend willen ontmoeten in een cottage in Norfolk? I can go on how much I love this book…well, more so much how much I love Dane but that’ll ruin the mystery of Dane even though I’m spoiling it.

I was thinking about giving four stars but I decided to give more because of powerful messages the author gave and I also advise you to read the author more which made me round up 4.5 stars to 5! Do yourself a favor and read this! Also make sure to read the Author’s Note, as Murphy includes resources and information pertaining to domestic violence for those who may personally need it or know someone who does. Now, as much as i’m a hoe for age gap romances, somehow this felt NOTHING like it, which led my body to cringe every single time he called her ‘baby girl’.This book’s plot absolutely resembles Strangers on a train meets Girl on the train with additional domestic abuse and psychological thriller elements. Leah knows an abused woman - mentally or physically - when she sees one because she is one. So, when she sees a woman at the liquor store, she knows they live similar lives. She knows the slump of her shoulders. She knows her darting eyes. She knows she needs help. They haven’t met, but they will…

I always seem to have an unpopular opinion, but this time it's because I seemed to enjoy the book more than the other reviewers. In this story, they won’t find themselves in the same train carriage and they don’t meet accidentally at the gym or the coffee shop. And Dane is just so cold man ugh....I do like his possessive behavior even though that too is OTT....like beating people up just goes away lordt

Closure: While I was frustrated with the chapters leading up to it, this had a super cute epilogue and what I would call a HEA ending still married with 3 children This man's past reads like a young and restless episode....I mean being a manwhore is one thing why do I need the details man H (Hero) rating: 3 stars. Dane. I didn’t connect with him, so I didn’t necessarily like or dislike him. If you like a storyline to be tied up neatly at the end, then this may not suit. Me? I loved it and still can't stop thinking about it.
