About this deal

Low fat, low sugar, dairy free, gluten free, soy free and free of all animal products – meet our vegan plant-based protein powders I was not planning to buy the Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies as I like vinegar in the liquid form, but I did try them and ended up buying the big bundle as the gummies are also amazing and taste great. They also contain B12, v important for vegans who train hard! For allergens see ingredients in bold. Our peanut flavouring is just a flavouring, this product is nut free. Chocolate Salted Caramel

Breakfast — add a scoop to your morning oats or pancakes for a healthy, high-protein start to the day. Our MIGHTY Vegan Plant-Based Protein Powder is a 100% vegan combo of high quality plant proteins, super greens and vitamins. It’s been scientifically formulated to drive your body through exercise sessions and the rest of your busy day. The next step in choosing your vegan protein powder would be to find a product that aligns with your health and fitness goals. Protein powders are generally divided into two categories: protein supplements and mass gainers. Protein supplements aim to exclusively top up your protein intake, whilst mass gainers are designed to also deliver a hefty dose of calories and a bulk of different nutrients that support muscle growth. If your primary aim is to lose weight, aim for the regular protein powders, particularly those that are lower in carbohydrate. If you are looking to use protein shakes to gain weight, you will need to choose a mass gainer, which will help you to achieve the calorie surplus needed to put on weight.

WHAT'S IN IT?

Made up of five different protein sources, it provides a chunky 23g of protein per serving, although with a carbohydrate content a little higher than some others at 5.5g. It comes in a dizzying array of flavors, plus an unflavored version, and includes digestive enzymes in an otherwise reassuringly small list of ingredients. Vegans and vegetarians should be aware that Bulk also produces products such as beef jerky, fish jerky and fish oils.

Smart™ Protein Plant is a deliciously versatile plant protein powder that can be used in many formats. You can bake with it, include it in indulgent, homemade desserts, whip it into a tasty macro friendly mousse or simply drink it. Each 30g serving crams in a hefty 20g of top quality pea protein, rice protein, hemp and flaxseed. And it’s low sugar, made without dairy or soya ingredients and free from animal products. It’s just good, sustainable vegan loveliness.

GO ON, ASK US A QUESTION

They do a stellar job at boosting your exercise performance, improving your body composition and promoting recovery, according to a 2022 review published in the journal Nutrients. If you do not obtain enough BCAAs from your diet, consider supplementation with Thorne Amino Complex. Although it is not technically a protein powder or meal replacement shake, this product will also help you top up your protein intake.

It’s also a great choice for anyone with IBS or gut issues as the added probiotics and digestive enzymes make it gentle on the tummy. Vitamins A, D, E and K are also in the powder, which can support the immune system. Flavours: Caramel latte, Apple Strudel, Banana Caramel, Chocolate Mint, Chocolate Peanut, Peanut Butter, Strawberry, Vanilla, Unflavoured, White Choc Coconut The flavor and texture are pretty good, although it’s a pity it only comes in chocolate and banana flavor. A wider choice, including vanilla, would be welcome, and it only comes in one size (although the pouch arguably makes it more environmentally friendly than a tub). Strict vegans may have some reservations about purchasing from a manufacturer that also produces non-vegan products, including whey products and fish oils.

WHO NEEDS PROTEIN?

It’s a no-brainer - protein is an absolutely essential part of what you eat. But Mother Nature knows this and has already sorted it. You can also find protein in nuts and soya, brown and wild rice, peas and lentils, oats, beans, cereals, grains and much more. Now here’s the science bit. Foods high in protein actually have 22 amino acids. Nine of them are essential amino acids, and you have to get these from food as your body can’t make them itself. It’s also pretty poor at storing protein. If you feel that you still want to add extra protein to your diet, then Dr. Dehghan lists soy and pea proteins as her first recommendations. “Both have been around for a long time and most studies use soy or pea protein powders to compare with whey protein. Another one of my favorites is protein powders that use a combination of different protein sources, for example, pea and brown rice.” Calculating the correct amount of protein you need depends on several factors; your body weight, your age and how physically active you are. An average person will need 0.75g of protein per kg of body weight, increasing to 1-1.2g in the over-65s. People who train a lot will need even more – about 1.2-2g per kg of body weight. Post-workout — to support the work you put in at the gym, have a shake 30 minutes before and/or after you train. Just add ¾ of a large scoop (30g) to 250ml of water or plant-based milk to create a delicious shake. Alternatively, you can get creative and throw some fruit or your favourite nut butter into the mix.
