About this deal

Pyle recently came up with their own take on the XLR to USB adapter, and did a great job providing a value piece of gear to consumers. This adapter has all of the features you could expect out of a solid adapter, and at a great price. On the bottom, there is an LED indicator that tells whether or not the mute button is activated, and the body is made of durable and lightweight aluminum – perfect for travel and on-the-go recording. As with most products, it is not without its flaws, though. Some users report poor customer service, and the preamp is not exactly studio-grade. Features & Specs All information is provided using our experience and research to the best of our ability. Links, videos, and other content are shared for information and discussion only. XLR to USB cables have a preamp and an analog to digital converter (or ADC) built into them. The preamp amplifies the audio signal that passes through it before transmitting it to the analog to digital converter.

If you’re going to use a dynamic mic with any of the following adapters that include 48 V phantom power, you need to make sure your dynamic mic is balanced. Balanced dynamic mics are not affected by phantom power. If your dynamic mic is unbalanced, it’s best to choose an adapter that does not have phantom power, or one that has the option to switch it off. Concluding Remarks Relies on your computer for the Analogue to Digital conversion. Typically the sound card in your computer won’t do a great job of this. And with the included 3 m USB cable and zippered pouch, you can take the Shure X2U XLR to USB Signal Adapter with you wherever you go. So whether you’re recording your latest album at home or capturing a live performance on the go, this adapter has you covered. We must fight this evil! We should pin a topic in the audio section, in all caps, titled "DON'T BUY THE AUDIO-TECHNICA ATH-M50X" or "Why not to buy the Audio-technica ATH-M50X" or something similar. A USB mixer is a great way to connect your XLR microphone to your computer. To use a USB mixer, just plug it directly into your computer’s USB port. Afterward, connect your XLR condenser mic to the mixer using an XLR cable. Audio Interface

If you have a XLR or USB cable or XLR to 1/8″ cable, we don’t recommend these cables. Option 1: Inline Audio Interface Ableton Live Lite, Analog Lab Intro, Auto-Tune (3-month Subscription), GUITAR RIG 6 LE, Splice (3-month Subscription) Unlike traditional preamps, the preamps inside XLR to USB cables have a fixed gain. This means you can increase the gain if the signal is not loud enough. That’s just one downside of using an XLR to USB cable.

These features include a +48V phantom power switch built right in. Another great feature that this device comes with is a preamp gain knob. Unlike the fixed mic gain on XLR to USB cable, the Shure X2U adapter provides you with a mic gain to boost your microphone signal to a level you prefer. Behringer U-Phoria UMC1820 USB Audio Interface USB 2.0 Audio Interface, 18-in/20-out, with 8 Microphone Preamps, ADAT I/O, S/PDIF I/O, MIDI I/O, and Dual Headphone Outputs - 24-bit/96kHz Resolution - Mac/PCAn analog audio mixer is the way to go for those who want more control and flexibility over their audio setup. Mixers allow you to connect multiple microphones and other audio sources while adjusting levels and adding effects in real-time. The processing is done on the audio mixer itself, rather than relying on your computer.
