About this deal

But with her father now fallen ill and her stepmother arranging a marriage for her, Hazel decided to leave home in search for a way to help not only the most important man in her life, but also herself. Now this book actually pulls together a few separate stories which seem unconnected at the start. Bear with it as, when you start to make your way through the book, all will become clear and you can start to see a very distinct and unexpected picture forming. Paul Finch has done a brilliant job of hiding the wood amongst the trees but as you carve your way through you will understand how things really appear. But you will still have that one nagging, unresolved question. One you may not be certain you want the answer to ... A couple caveats I will grant: this book may not have had me as the intended demographic... I dont like fanfiction/don't read Wattpad and I may be older than the intended audience. Death is quite charming. Despite being a lonely and reserved creature, he instantly recognized Hazel's worth and took it upon himself to ensure her comfort and well-being during her stay in his castle. Una Ivanov is known, respected and feared amongst the criminal underworld as The Baccio Della Morte, the Kiss of Death, a hired killer who was trained under the Russian Bratva, becoming one of the Elite – a group of assassins with little to no conscience, selling their services to the highest bidders. She lives to kill, she feels alive when she feels life drain from beneath her hands, her blades, her bullets. She was conditioned to be a killing machine, with no moral code and made to believe that having an emotional connection to anyone is a weakness but Nero makes her feel things; things that she has never felt her entire life – and that scares her. Una is intrigued by his cold, merciless and calculated demeanour, but infuriated by arrogance, manipulative tendencies and the insane pull she has to him; the way her skin tingles when he touches her, or the way she can feel his possessive eyes on her at any given moment. She wants to fight it, not accustomed to human touch or connection, she has never lost her edge, not until she meets the one man who unearths her one and only weakness.

We’re both without morals, both equally as depraved as each other. We’re both born of bloodshed and battle and the reality is, we long for it”I stumbled across the author’s TikTok and saw some of her videos promoting this book and just had to read it. She described it as Death falling in love with a girl who had bargained away her soul to him. And the images of Death really called to me (my emo side coming out, I guess). Power is nothing more than a game of strategy, a chessboard. You are my queen, Morte, the most valuable piece on the board"

THE AUTHOR: Paul Finch is a former cop and journalist, now full-time writer. Having originally written for the television series THE BILL plus children's animation and DOCTOR WHO audio dramas, he went on to write horror, but is now best known for his crime / thriller fiction. The way it unfolds and you meet the man that can take the Queen on... He's mine. I called dibs okay. The Cajun Kiss of Death by Ellen Byron is the seventh book in the Cajun Country Mysteries, and while you can jump in and read it without having read the previous ones, you don’t want to. This cozy mystery series is one where you come to love the characters and look forward to each new book because you want to find out what your friends have been up to. Of course, it wouldn't be a cozy without someone dying/murdered. In this case, it is a no-good, recipe stealing chef for a new restaurant in town. To top everything else, he and his crew don't seem to fight fair and are out to decimate the little competition there is in town which includes JJ's restaurant Junie's. Maggie is not ok with this and does her best to poke her nose into the situation and uncover the killer but not without putting herself in harm's way in the process. There is even a stalker and there is no way to know who it could possibly be, but Bo and the police force are on the case. The answer will surprise you, at least it did me!

Her next client, Arnaldo Botticelli, the underboss of the Italian Mafia, is where she meets Nero Verdi who they collectively have a hit against a capo, Lorenzo Santos. The plan though, has Una working directly with Nero, to overthrow his half brother and place him as capo of New York. The Kiss of Death is about a vampire by the name of Raphael who is desperately trying to find a way to bring a sense of purpose and redemption to his own life. While he can't change who he is as a vampire, he believes he can still do the right thing and help battle against his own kind who are seeking to destroy the world and begin a war of evil with Richelieu as the head of the vampire army. Now it seems his goal is to locate the ancient religious artifacts, like the crown of thorns, the nails... that contain the blood of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. The Bible said that you're not supposed to eat or drink the blood of any creature, because the life of the creature resides in the blood. By taking the blood of the creature into yourself, you make its life, its spirit, a part of you. That's why there are so many prohibitions against drinking blood in the Old Testament. Blood is life, it's strength and the power and spirit, and the blood of Jesus, the son of God, was enough to atone for the sins of all mankind. It's the most powerful blood that ever has been. There’s a prologue that is unnecessary and contributes only a little to the story. It set a level of expectation for me that didn’t pay off what it promised. Chapter one describes a sting operation on a series of priest-murdering-thugs. This is well written and suspenseful, but once the sting is over, the book dissolves into exposition disguised as dialogue that explains who the main players and their relationships to each other. Too many characters were introduced at one time, and I had to write them down to keep them straight. This is the seventh book in the series, and I understand Finch’s need to describe the players. I wish he’d found a more exciting way to accomplish this. It's not a very realistic plot, but that doesn't detract from the thrilling story. I wouldn't want to be a criminal in this world. The ending leaves you wanting more, and that 'cliffhanger' is just immense! Is it a cliffhanger though? I'm not so sure - if it is, then maaan that's mean. There Maggie helps her parents run the Crozat Plantation Bed and Breakfast; works as the art manager for the Doucet Plantation tourist attraction; and is newly married to Sheriff's Department Detective Bo Durand. Kiss of Death is the second book in the Kiss Trilogy by Debbie Viguie. This series is a very unique and defining series among the ranks of stories that feature and deal with vampires and vampire lore. It is a story that is both touching and challenging, and once you stare into its captivating eyes, you will already be risking all and feeling the effects of your own inner struggle when the real bite of this story begins to take hold of you.
