About this deal

Then, place the image face-down on to the fabric, smoothing it out with your fingers or a squeegee. Print the image or photograph to fit the surface using a laserjet toner printer. Remember to reverse any words so that they will read correctly.

Are you interested to see how I did this wood craft? I know you’ll use this technique for transferring photos all the time after I teach you. So read on! Inkjet Transfer to Wood Protect your workspace. I laid everything on a silicone mat, which is great for this. You can use wax paper if you’d like but make sure to protect your work surface. Don’t rub too much in one place or you’ll tear the decal. Wet, rub, let dry a little, then repeat. The decals are slightly fragile. If you want the item to stay outdoors– like windchimes or gazing orbs – you’ll use Outdoor Mod Podge. Nothing makes a house feel more like a home than pictures of friends and family. I especially love collecting and displaying old photos that family members haven’t seen. Ok, here’s the important part: Leave the piece to dry for 72 hours. Most photo to wood transfer tutorials recommend waiting 8-24 hours at this point, but the next step is much easier if you wait three full days! Remove the Paper

Here is an interesting way to display vintage photos on glass vases using a Mod Podge phototransfer process – it’s call the decal method. What I like about it is that the photos look very rustic after being transferred, so this project goes well with farmhouse decorating. Photo Transfer to Glass Tip: When selecting an image to transfer, remember always to NEVER use an actual photograph. You must always use a photocopy of the original. Also photocopies should be created on a dry toner-type copier. Another key tip is to remember to have your image created as a mirror image or in reverse if there is text such as birth orwedding announcements, family reunion messages, or even your favorite saying or poem! This is probably the hardest part of the whole thing. You will need to wet your item and rub the paper off, revealing the image below. It’s a little weird to wet your craft project and you’re going to be thinking, “am I doing this right?” After removing the top layer of paper, let dry a little and then repeat. It's better to rub gently and repeat the wetting process several times than to rub too hard and rub the image away. After 72 hours, you can start removing the paper to reveal the mod podge photo transfer. To do this, you’ll begin by spraying the piece with water or dampening it with a wet sponge. As the paper gets wet, you will be able to see the picture through the paper.
