About this deal

I liked the crew of Marigold consisted of a group of young and lost teens, orphans , outcasts and Fable is strong, lovable heroine!

The beginning of an outstanding new middle-grade adventure series, Fablehouse is a spectacular magical adventure steeped in Arthurian legend... I enjoyed reading this. It was so sad and heartbreaking. You just want to jump into the book and then jump into the past and save all those kids! Published by Bloomsbury Books this month, we spoke to Norry about working with Storymix on Fablehouse, how her upbringing in the care system has prepared for life as an author and why the only footsteps she’s following in are her own …I initially thought Gemma was Quell, because of the whole look-alike thing, but that wasn't the case. I didn't see the point of why the author HAD to make her look like Quell?I don't really like it when the author makes the heroine look like someone from the hero's past. It kinda irks me, to be honest. Like what was the point? Ships and oceans, gems and traders, they are all secondary to the characters and, most importantly, the relationships in Fable, because the weight and meaning of loyalty and love, home and family, in a world as vicious as this is the true essence of this tale. Exciting, important and endlessly entertaining … this is going to be huge’ – Maz Evans, author of Who Let the Gods Out

The book delves off into that cliffy from book one, but we all know how brilliant Pepoer is at pulling at the heartstrings . You will be drowning in a sesspool of pain while Kassen tries to survive the horror and torment he experienced while trying to escape Storymakers control. Poor Gemma has her work cut out for her as she experiences sides of Kas that even the poor guy doesn’t remember. The boy lost, the sweetness and the innocence just melts your heart. Kassen is one true survivor. My mum was a Heroin addict so I was put on the child in need register really early on, when I was about 15 or 16 months old. And I was in the care system up until I was 18.” Set in the 1950s, Fablehouse has its own magic and when one of the children, Heather found it, the underworld beneath their home was exposed. With a touch of Arthurian and Merlin legend, Heather and her friends are set to save Fablehouse before it is too late. Aside from its gorgeous cover, Fablehouse is now one of my favorite middle-grade fantasy books because its own fantasy world is so magical and amazing. Fablehouse is actually the name of the house where all children who have been excluded live there happily. I loved the concept of fablehouse where it actually protects the naive children from all the terror and hatred in the outside world. For the first time, Fable found herself truly alone, with nobody to care for her. She had recently lost her Mother, as well, during a terrible storm. Growing up in the care system from 16 months right up until I was 17 has definitely shaped me as a person, positively and negatively. Positively, I am extremely adaptable, resilient, and empathetic. I coped through my younger years by being curious and that quality has carried me through many difficult times, including a massive breakdown when I was 26 which involved being diagnosed as bipolar. Negatively, I do have issues believing in my abilities and trusting my own instincts. I often feel like I don’t fit in and am on my own. I don’t ever set goals or plan ahead or dream, because my past showed that doing those things was a waste of time. On the plus side, it means that I very much live in the present and because I don’t expect anything, am rarely disappointed. In fact, I’d say my ability to reframe almost anything negative into a positive is why I’ve survived as long as I have.It wasn’t uncommon for women to crew ships, but they were definitely outnumbered. And the softer you looked, the more likely you were to become prey. No child will be forgotten or discarded on her watch. Discovering extraordinary powers and a fire inside herself, Heather will battle to save the first place that has felt like home for years... About This Edition ISBN: No matter how much time passed, no matter how much pain he granted or blood he spilled, I would never curse him, betray him, or hate him. I would only love him. Love a broken beast who’d survived so much.” She should be running for the hills and I didn't understand why she didn't run. Each time she decided to stay was more frustrating than the previous one. And I kept having hope her logic will suddenly appear, but nope. She was still an idiot.

Wrong, heartbreaking, disturbing, unique. These are all adjectives that can sum up the dark and twisted relationship between Kassen and Gemma. If you’ve read book 1 you know it’s anything but conventional and ordinary.Their romance started on the wrong foot and they continue to face so many difficulties in this book as well. However, you can’t help but falling for them as they’re falling for each other. There are moments when it gets too much, too hard for you to continue due to nature of the book but it’s so worth continuing through the darkest and most disturbing scenes to reach the heartbreakingly beautiful parts. It takes having a twisted and open mind to read about Gem and Kas without being judgmental towards them. All of the characters were fab and instantly had you rooting for them. The Roamers were a lovely little band who sought out danger and overcame all the odds. And if this one is anything to go by, the follow up and Fable House 2 holds a lot of promise and one that I can’t wait to see how it will bloom. Gemma finally has the one thing she has ever wanted. Freedom. But it came at the expense of the man she had grown to love. And now nothing would ever be the same. would the beast return and destroy her again? Or will she finally be able to escape, and continue living her hollow existence?

I fell right in love with each member of the Marigold crew! This journey was not the best or safest journey and there were a few rough things that happen. Her research is extensive and painfully accurate, it made me feel anxious at times seeing Kas writhing in agony trapped in his mind. How debilitated and helpless he must feel, tripping over himself, falling and breaking his own heart. Nothing comes free, Fable. We both know that surviving means sometimes doing things that haunt you.” A powerful and important book, bursting with hope and wonder. Fablehouse is a glorious celebration of friendship ’ – Tola Okogwu, author of Onyeka and the Academy of the Sun

At one point she leaves the island to look for her father. She makes a bargain with West, to ride out on his ship. Well, basically she has to but I can’t tell you why. Her books have garnered foreign interest and are currently being translated into numerous languages, including already released titles in Italian, French, Hebrew, German, and Turkish. Bad: this was soooooooo repetitive. Gemma wanted to run away, Kassen’s health / mind worsened, she stayed to help, Kassen hurt Gemma (either with words or actions). Rinse wash repeat. The story was too long and some of the repetition needed to be cut out.The story itself was riveting in some ways, but there were a few reasons I dropped this down to 3 stars. Here’s the good and the bad…..
