About this deal

Once you get used to something like this, it’s hard to go back to the standard one-list option on other devices. In fact, we sometimes found the sensor a little too sensitive – when we were holding the device in our hand while walking or on a run, even a slight brush of our thumb over the scanner would unlock the phone, meaning that we often unlocked the device when we didn’t want to.

If you know the Xiaomi Mi 11’s cameras, you’ll find the 11T Pro’s array fairly familiar: it has the same 108MP main and 5MP telemacro snappers, but its ultra-wide and selfie cameras are lower-res at 8MP and 16MP respectively. In low-light conditions, the 11T Pro shows its rougher edges, as there’s some noise in pictures, but the pixel binning goes some way to mitigate that. The 11T Pro is quite wide – measuring 77mm from side to side – which means one-handed use is mostly out of the question, unless you have very long thumbs. With the news that Xiaomi has rocketed up to second place in global smartphone market share for the first time, it’s no surprise that its high-end yet affordable handsets continue to gather momentum. This means that, while it won’t necessarily survive being submerged in liquid for any length of time, it should at least withstand being left outside in light rain. While we’re not overly critical of MIUI, and didn’t find many bugs compared to on other Xiaomi phones, other people’s experiences may be different. All the better, then, that the Xiaomi 11T Pro supports incredibly quick wired charging, at 120W (if you use the in-box charger).

You can also squeeze a second nano-SIM into the phone’s card tray, which is handy if you’re planning on going abroad and need to use an international SIM. You will find chargers, memory cards, external batteries, cables, speakers, headphones, tripods, car and bike mounts. That’s over twice as fast as the 55W charging of the Mi 11, and zooms past the Samsung Galaxy S21’s 25W or the iPhone 12’s 15W. Macro pictures looked very good – even if it is little more than a gimmick – and the camera’s software experience is relatively straightforward. Moving round to the front, we were happy with selfies taken on the Xiaomi 11T Pro; the fact that the snapper is lower-res than many rivals doesn’t matter, since 16MP is more than enough. Xiaomi’s latest flagship killer supports 120W USB-C wired charging that, in my tests, whizzed all the way from zero to full in just under 20 minutes. It allows you to attach your device securely to any motorcycle, truck, fishing boat or any other vehicle.

Our vision has always been to create a unique design that allows you to make your urban life more active. There’s more than enough here to keep Xiaomi firmly in the spotlight for at least a little while longer. There are smaller phones on the market that might be better suited to you, unless you’re okay with the stretch. The resolution of the screen is lower (FHD+), it lacks IP68-rated waterproofing (IP53), it doesn’t have the 5x optical zoom camera of the original and there are a few concessions when it comes to the design, but that’s pretty much it. A nice improvement over the Mi 10T Pro here is the camera bump on the back, which stuck out like a mountain range on the 2020 phone, but on the 11T Pro is much less imposing.Brightness peaks at 867cd/m² while viewing HDR material, which means it’s well suited for Netflix binges on the daily commute, now that we’re doing that again. That fast charging we mentioned is definitely the biggest new feature, as it’s a startling 120W using the in-box charger. Xiaomi is back at it again for the latter half of 2021 with the 11T Pro, a moderately stripped-back version of its flagship-killing handset launched earlier in the year. Colors looked similar to those in photos taken with the main camera, but we occasionally noticed overexposure issues.

Looking at the performance figures in the Geekbench 5 tests, however, things are a bit unusual: the 11T Pro is 23% slower than the Mi 11 Pro (which also uses a Snapdragon 888) in multicore and 28% worse in single-core processing. is fine for most tasks though, as your streaming services and games will generally only reach that resolution, and we never found ourselves wishing for more pixels. The Xiaomi 11T Pro applies a face-softening beautification filter, even with the slider set to zero, and the edges of your subject aren’t quite as well defined.Think ahead of time, ARMOR-X has created a mountable protective case for Xiaomi smartphones / tablets bundled with a mounting eco-system - a built-in interchangeable mounting solution to suit your modern urban lifestyle. The device gets hot easily, is quite big, picks up fingerprints readily on the rear, has a few too many software bugs. telemacro camera is a star here, as it’s fantastic for taking macro or close-up pictures – no other phone maker has a macro snapper that quite rivals the one Xiaomi has included in a few members of its Mi 11 family. Quality-wise, the footage is pretty exceptional, picking up plenty of detail with a remarkably snappy focus.
