About this deal

Repercussion (2) – Other than one cool piece of video footage, which forms one half of a conversation, there is minimal effect to the timeline because of a person’s time travel. Base Coherence (4) – The reset happens at a specific time of the day, so there is no confusion of who is causing the loops to reset. Rewatchability (3) – While the film has its funny moments and memorable characters, it’s nowhere near the awesomeness of the first two parts. Rewatchability (1) – As I mentioned, the film is fitting for a one-time watch, as it still somehow managed to put together an engaging plot.

Base Coherence (3) – We know that this film is set in an alternate timeline, and this explains the characters and their variations. On October 23, 2007, Warner Home Video released Eyes Wide Shut in a special edition DVD, plus the HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc formats. [128] This is the first home video release that presents the film in anamorphic 1.78:1 (16:9) format (the film was shown theatrically as soft matted 1.66:1 in Europe and 1.85:1 in the US and Japan). The previous DVD release used a 1.33:1 (4:3) aspect ratio. It is also the first American home video release to feature the uncut version. Although the earliest American DVD of the uncut version states on the cover that it includes both the R-rated and unrated editions, in actuality only the unrated edition is on the DVD. However, a small set of past events appear moderately modified even though the film attempts to portray one single immutable timeline. Repercussion (3) – Wolverine works with the X-men at the time to try and alter the course of history to stop a scientist from creating the sentinels that will control, monitor and eventually wipe out the mutants of the world.

However, the movie had limited characters, and they don’t leave a lasting impression on you. Well considering the budget, even this is quite a feat. Coherence (2.4) – The final Coherence score stands corrected against the Repercussion score to 2.4 (4 x 4/5). However, a choice is never free of consequences . The best show of this is the whole episode with Domino, where destiny intervenes at the last moment and prevents Bill from cheating on his wife. The next night, he goes to her place, remorseful that he has missed out on his opportunity, only to find out (from her roommate) that she was diagnosed with HIV that very morning. Base Coherence (4) – The film wraps up the trilogy pretty consistently. But as I mentioned above, this wasn’t hard to do given the film’s events were mostly isolated.

Coherence (1.8) – The final Coherence score stands corrected against the Repercussion score to 1.8 (3 x 3/5). The lead character traverses through a whole bunch of time jumps navigating through the same set of events repeatedly until she finds the source of the device. Eyes Wide Shut". Metacritic. We don’t know if all the realities co-exist or only one does but movie wraps most time based events consistently.

Time Travel Mechanics (5) – The lead characters, connected through a predestined thread of fate, mysteriously swap bodies over a while. Can a Star of Walk Be a Star Who Talks?". The New York Times. With the images of his wife’s infidelity in his mind, Bill learns that his patient’s engaged daughter is madly in love with him. He also learns of a secret society sex party he tries to infiltrate.Eyes Wide Shut Review". tvguide.com. Archived from the original on May 31, 2012 . Retrieved July 2, 2012. At moments there appears to be one timeline and other times it is shown to be two separate timelines. Eyes wide shut masks are all Venetian masks and some of them come from the traditional Carnival of Venice! For instance, in the movie, it is possible to recognize the Plague doctor mask which refers to the Great plague that hit Venice in 1630, or the Jolly mask which represents the folly and fun of this character. Other masks displayed in the movie are more recent or were made on purpose for the film production. Ronson, Jon (2013). Lost at Sea: The Jon Ronson Mysteries. London: Picador. pp.170, 174.
