The only problem is that the nationally renown chef that they had booked has cancelled and the newly booked chef is someone from Sam's past that she never wanted or hoped to see again. Between the feeling of dread at that prospect and the sabotaging occurring all around the village, Sam is worried that the festival may not make to year twenty-one. Our main protagonist is Eden. Yours Magazine But as she gets to know Levan, Eden begins to wonder if he might be different – until she discovers he’s not quite what he seems. And when a long-buried family secret surfaces, her faith in those she loves most is shaken to the core. The characters were easy to get to know. There was a strong feeling of family togetherness between Eden, her mother and grandmother. I loved them all apart from Simon, her ex husband. Lies just rolled off of his tongue. The new neighbour was adorable and fell in love with him from the beginning. Her grandmother, who is just going to reach the age of 90, is truly feisty, lovable and spirited. She really does love life This was my first book by Phillipa Ashley and it definitely won’t be my last. I loved the characters so much I am really looking forward to finding out more about them as the series continues. It also made me want to plan a holiday to Cornwall.Three generations of woman in one family with a historic link to the area and its history. Secrets from the past, new beginnings, wonderful friendships, community spirit and the healing power of love, openness and honesty!’ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ And as with any good love story/mystery we get to meet the comical characters who go along with a small harbor town where everybody knows one another. And most have secrets. Some more serious than others. The highlight of the story is the festival itself, that's where the comedy was at its best and kept a smile on my face. A smile still there even as this sweet story came to it's conclusion.

The author was good at describing the every day life of those Cornish people and she was good at writing about the organization side of the festival, the feelings on it of the local people and the volunteers. Generally, I liked the way the author developed the main characters. They weren't just characters, but they were also multidimensional and I could totally see myself going inside the character's head.

Another really enjoyable light read from Phillipa Ashley. I just seem to devour her books once I start reading them because they are so easy to get into and to read. As the characters follow a well-developed story arc, it’s impossible not to be drawn into their lives. The setting and characterisations are perfect, and I was able to relax in the knowledge that I was in expert hands. Sunshine, secrets and a stunning setting make this the perfect summer read!’ – Heidi SwainReaders love Phillipa Ashley’s books! Through the years the festival has continually grown much to the delight of many of the locals, but not all.
