About this deal

The leg plates were finished off with two plates from a Defiler and the tabard was replaced with a Fantasy Chaos Warrior Champion shield. Those shields make amazing bits for Chaos knights, by the way. I used some cork sheet for the base, because I’m going to make it look like he’s stomping on a ruined/broken street. Credit: Robert “TheChirurgeon” Jones So I don’t have a great reason for starting this army besides GW having sent me like half of it, but hey it looks rad as hell so good enough for me!

When you only have a handful of stompy mechs on the board, it’s important that they each excel in their chosen role. The upcoming Chaos Knights Army Set offers you dozens upon dozens of different loadouts for the forces within – and thanks to these flexible build options, you can reign supreme across the Shooting phase, the Fight phase, and even the Psychic phase.

Review Summary

For the bone armor I start by doing a two or three coats of Zandri Dust before recess shading with Agrax. The highlights are stipled on with a big drybrush, I don’t really know if this is normal but I thin the paint pretty heavily before I do so and I leave a pretty minimal amount of paint on the brush to the point where it is almost dry. I usually do two to three passes of Ushabti and Screaming Skull where I successively cover a bit less on each pass.

points might seem like a lot to dedicate to an “allied” choice, but this Detachment has a place in pretty much any Chaos force. Between the War Dog autocannons and the Knight Desecrator’s laser destructor, you’ll have some flexible firepower. LOW: Knight Despoiler, daemonbreath cannon, havoc missile pod, reaper chainsword, Nurgle: Putrid Carapace, Extra trait: Bow to None – 485pts On top of the base ability each favour gives you, each one has a second favoured ability that can be activated after you provide a worthy offering to the god in question. How do you do that? By destroying models. Each model you destroy a model, you add a number of tallies equal to its wounds characteristic. Get a certain number – 5 if you’re a War Dog, 10 if you’re Abhorrent-class, or 15 if you’re a Tyrant – and at the end of the phase you gain the favoured ability. This is pretty easy to hit, and some of the favoured abilities are pretty great. Let’s look at some of them. Khorne

A War Dog is the designation given by the Imperium of Man to any Chaos Knight that was originally an Armiger Pattern Knight of any class. Several specialised variants of this class of combat walker found only among the forces of Chaos also exist. I’d also say that the Knight Tyrant could start looking pretty hot depending on how other factions move around in the next balance pass, even if its own points don’t change. Tyrant Class Knights are heavy duty engines of war, keeping T8 and going up to 28W and a 2+ save. They’re a bit slower at 8”, and also only get WS4+ due to being a bit cumbersome. Also included is a War Dogs transfer sheet featuring 238 runes, sigils, and iconography for various Dread Households

This boxed set contains 22 miniatures making up two full kill teams – that’s 12 Blooded members of the traitor guard and 10 Phobos Space Marines. Ten of the Blooded are completely new, and they’re incredibly customisable. Because this is a daemon engine and no longer something piloted by a mortal, I wanted to make it clear that the pilot’s hatch was off limits. The chained aesthetic is something that shows up on other daemon engines and I replicated it here using the small hooks from the Chaos Space Marines vehicle upgrade sprue and some jewler’s chains. These always end up being a pain in the ass to paint, but the effect is worth it. I add the chains to the hooks before gluing them down so they end up taught – I don’t want them to come off on their own. To this end they are equipped with a Daemonbreath Spear, Daemonbreath Meltagun, and Reaper Chaintalon. [5] War Dog Karnivore — Close combat type armed with a Chaintalon and Slaughterclaw. [3] They are aggressively bloodthirsty, revel in causing pain, and eschew most ranged weaponry. [5] Some weapons have ‘Blast’ listed in their profile’s abilities. These are referred to as Blast weapons. In addition to the normal rules, the following rules apply to Blast weapons: The Phobos-armoured Space Marines are built from existing Infiltrators and Incursors, and come with a new upgrade sprue to put together a wide range of new elite specialists.

Vakir’s field agents have collected additional Bloom Seeds and stored them in Sanctified Servitors within an Astra Militarum outpost. This outpost is being relentlessly assaulted by the forces of Nurgle and the Baleful Edict must intervene.I had an old WHFB Chaos Warshrine kit I got for cheap from some closeout sale somewhere because I always figured I would use the bits one day. This would provide some wonderful bits for my conversion and has the same bit that KrautScientist used for their Chaos Knight torso. Chaos Shrine. Credit: Games Workshop
