About this deal

The Kinvara 12 was more of a miss because of its rather rigid ride. But with the Kinvara 13 turned out to be more forgiving and bouncier in our run tests! From time to time carriers may deliver earlier or later, or on non working days however this is cannot be guaranteed nor should it be expected. With no added carbon plate and less foam underfoot, this model feels a bit less responsive than other models, but there is no denying that this is one of the fastest shoes in our lineup, thanks to its ultra-lightweight design. With it being so light, it's impossible to not feel fast and responsive. Each footstrike is met with a small amount of compaction that is felt on rebounding. The foam has a nice density and is far from plush. While not the stiffest model in our lineup, there is no denying that there are more comfortable shoes out on the market, especially for long-distance running. However, we are constantly impressed with this shoe's ability to offer a minimal responsive cushion in such a lightweight design. It is subtle but firm compression that is noticeable but doesn't feel squishy or like you sinking into the footbed. This cushioning requires a bit more effort to stay on top of when compared to the most responsive models, which is why it is our short-distance favorite.

Lighter: It goes from 7.5 oz or 213 g (in US M 9) to 7.2 oz or 204 g because of its trimmed-down upper. The Kinvara 13 is almost the same as the first Kinvara. Meaning, that racing shoes now have plates that make them swift. And most daily trainers are very comfortable and responsive for that longer distance run you might want to use them for. In the Kinvara 13s that is not the case. Smoother and more responsive ride: Thanks to a more beveled midsole and a contoured design, heel-to-toe transitions are more seamless. All applicable customs and import duties and any other charges are the responsibility of the customer.

The Kinvara 13 from Saucony goes on a diet with its 6.8 oz (192 g) weight in a men's US 9. This is lighter than all of the previous Kinvara iterations! And contrary to the average of tempo running shoes (8.9 oz), it doesn't tip the scales.

If I could suggest to Saucony I would make the next version of the Endorphin Pro upper just like the newest Kinvara 13.I wear barefoot shoes to walk in most of the time and have found that this has begun to influence my choice of trainers quite a bit. I want my shoes to feel light and I want to feel the ground. I prefer it. The Kinvara are great for that and the 13 is even lighter than the 10 but still has enough cushioning underfoot to be comfortable when running on harder surfaces, which is important for longer races. They really do feel great to run in. The midsole has been developed using Saucony's PWRRUN midsole compound which they say provides even more energy return, and rebound. I'd agree it feels responsive and you almost forget you are wearing them! It has been one of my favorite shoes to run in lately and it’s mostly due to the comfort that the upper gives me. Like I said before it’s lightweight, with the women’s version coming in at 6.2 oz (184g)and the Men’s version at 7.2 oz(213g). Delivery timescales are esimates in working days; Public Holidays, Saturday's and Sunday's are NOT classed as working days. I opened the box and thought these look simple. Simple is good sometimes. There is no standout feature nor did I get a bold color like some other various color schemes that are offered in the model.

Softer upper with better support: A new mono mesh upper is introduced with a more pliable feel. Despite being stretchy, it remains secure because of its overlays and gusseted tongue. The ever-popular Ride and Triumph series are great for neutral road runners. The Ride 15 is the ideal daily training partner, and the Triumph 20 offers a plush feeling underfoot. The Endorphin Shift 3 is another neutral road shoe, it’s ample cushioning and Speedroll Technology make it perfect for recovery runs, all the way through to days where you want to increase the pace. Delivery timescales are based on working days; Public Holidays, Saturday's and Sunday's are NOT classed as working days. The Kinvara 13 comes along and instantly makes me feel like I’m putting on my running shoes from years ago. It’s a good feeling. It makes me work harder, and adjust my running form and gait. The upper has been given a facelift which is my favorite part of the shoe and the midsole offers the same basic PWRRUN as the Kinvara 12. There is no difference in the midsole between the two versions. I like to have plenty of toe room in my trainers and want extra space as I know my feet might swell over longer distances, so I went 1.5 sizes up in this shoe (I always go a whole size up in trainers anyway! - personal preference). It fitted fine around the heel but didn't squash my toes. I ended up wearing these for about 80 miles of the Thames Path 100, only swapping into my trail shoes when I needed a bit more protection from the unforgiving rutted path.

I think these would be a great shoe for shorter distances too and can imagine wearing them for my next 1/2 marathon. It’s worth mentioning that my choice of wearing a light and minimal shoe such as the Kinvara 13 is very much based on personal preference. If you are wanting a shoe with more support, structure and cushioning, then it might be best to choose a model from the Saucony Ride or the Endorphin ranges. It’s a very natural feeling shoe that feels like an extension of my body. The first run was a bit of an adjustment, all my shoes in my current running rotation offer plates or extra cushioning.

The upper is also extremely thin, which means you do notice the laces pressing into the top of the foot slightly. Again, we didn’t have any problems with rubbing or blistering, but someone with wider feet may struggle. RW verdict Saucony running shoes for men. Find the latest Saucony shoes for men, including the Peregrine 12, Ride 15, Triumph 20, Tempus and many more. Fast delivery and great prices. Being lightweight has its pros and cons. I thoroughly enjoyed this shoe for short fast-paced runs but in this day and age of running shoes, I was left a little disappointed. The last pair of Saucony Kinvara I owned were the 10. I had them for about 5 years and still wore them, but I realised it was time to retire then and that I was going to need another pair for the Thames Path 100. The forecast was looking really dry and the trail shoes that I wear most of the time were most likely not going to be right for the job.
