The Casiotone CT-S1 is a great-sounding, stylish, ultra- portable keyboard designed for anyone to enjoy playing. In terms of quality control, my particular instance of CT-S1 is very well made: the buttons and jacks are nicely (almost perfectly) aligned, and the keys are symmetrical and level (more so, in fact, than some keyboards costing 2x to 5x as much). I’ve been playing the piano, gigging in bands and failing to finish tracks at home for more than 30 years, 24 of which I’ve also spent writing about music and the ever-changing technology used to make it. I use it exactly the way I dreamed of using it: a fun keyboard, light, great sounding, got rechargeable "Eneloop" brand batteries as recommended to me on this very forum and it's been very helpful!Credit is provided by a panel of lenders with whom we have a commercial relationship (so we cannot provide independent advice).
What surprised me more was how good the other sounds are, especially the electric pianos and synths. I just need something for parks, jams, taking it out to open mic nights and clubs etc as I go to those quite often. Sweetwater's Sales Engineers are regarded as the most experienced and knowledgeable professionals in the music industry, with extensive music backgrounds and intense training on the latest products and technologies. The only other con for me was that the included 'manual' is nothing more than a quick reference guide, but to get the full manual you have to look it up online. If all you want to do on your keyboard is to play a piano, electric piano or organ tone, the CT-S1 simplicity works well. span>
Go Wireless with Bluetooth
For the first time in an entry-level keyboard, the optional WU-BT10 Bluetooth dongle allows you to add Bluetooth Audio and Bluetooth MIDI capabilities to your CT-S1. But thankfully, the headphone jack sounds great, with no perceptible noise at comfortable listening volumes. Use the free Casio Music Space app to learn to play your favorite songs with downloadable MIDI files. Compatible with Android and iOS devices, Chordana Play connects via USB or optional Bluetooth dongle and teaches you to play in a fun, visual way. Also If you're not a pianist you might feel the action is super good, YMMV depending on your requirements of the action.
