About this deal

The violet, the cypress and the rosemary with heliotrope and juniper berries create a vibe hard to explain. Some said it smells somewhat medicinal and I can see that. I find the vibe it gives being a gentle metallic, with a little sweetness (probably from patchouli) and some greenness, but both the sweetness and greenness are one with the gentle metallic smell, not on their own (this is very well blended). But at the start of the new decade, a change of management happened and suddenly they decided to discontinue most of their offerings. Although it's normal for any brand to pull the plug on some of their outdated products, Gucci's approach was brutal, to say the least! It was like they consciously and actively tried to find what fragrances the community love the most and discontinued them! Scent: This smells divine, and I have received more compliments on this in the week I’ve worn it than any I can remember. My favorite part is the opening. This opens up fresh and invigorating and drys down into a warm scent(not sweet) perfect for fall or spring. Could also be great for dates or with enough sprays, worn in winter. Probably too warm in the dry down for summer. My wife’s new favorite scent for me to wear!

This should have 100% be a stand alone new fragrance release from Gucci and not a flanker. It is so unique, so pleasent, so different, i like it a lot. This is a dupe of Gucci by Gucci but there are similarities with dewy, sweet florals and the Gucci DNA. Sotoor Seen gets a lot sweeter in the drydown with honey, although it has a similarly slow unfolding. Both have excellent performance, but Sotoor Seen has beast mode once it gets going and can work up to a cloying sweetness if oversprayed. The juice is the prettiest, softest green-- that ever made the scene. The glass bottle is so heavy and tapered for the hand. Yep. It just feels good. Nice ritual. its like it cant do anything right. if i spray on my skin, it disappears within hours. if i spray my clothes, it smells like someone sprayed himself with axe.I’m a Gucci clothes fan-well, who isn’t? They are one of the most creative, fun, long lasting reinventive (if that’s a word) Houses out there. Gucci Guilty has been around a long time, but for some reason, this scent missed my notice. But-I have organized my little sample bottles, well over 100, and put them in a place I can read off a list and go straight to one I want to try immediately. Today it’s Guilty. It's a good scent - far from great - far from memorable. Which i suppose is what i expected...but maybe deep in my heart i hoped it would be something more. For all of the gentlemen who love and choose Gucci, the woody aromatic Guilty Pour Homme is presented to the market in 2011 as an aromatic companion of popular female edition Gucci Guilty from 2010.

My one caveat is some of these sample bottles are dauber, open types, not sprays. And sometimes it seems to me, when you put a fragrance on that way, straight from the bottle, you miss notes. I don’t know if the scent molecules can settle, or if when they are decanted something is missing. It seems to happen more with this type. Or, maybe it’s my imagination. I wore Guilty to my middle school graduation and thought it was the most beautiful, elegant, ladylike thing I'd ever smelled. Sadly, smelling it again after many years and having more experience in the world of fragrance, I can still say that this smells lovely but it's nothing particularly unique. Florals with gentle fruit and musk tones are very elegant, but are by no means uncommon. Allow me to start with the positives here this is not just a cookie cutter, eau de cologne freshie. Nor is it the ultimately bland aroma chemical mess of a eros or Invictus, some small merciful praise can be bestowed upon Gucci Guilty Cologne for this fact. I'm not familiar with lilac notes but I suppose that's the prominent floral note I smell. It's balanced out with a delectable mix of spices (pink pepper and patchouli especially) and very subtle vanilla. I can't detect any fruitiness in this despite the peach note. It doesn't have any 'greenness' to it either so it's not sharp at all. Actually, because of the vanilla, it is rather creamy, especially at the dry-down.

Things were actually worst for women. The whole "Parfum" line, Acenti, Flora, Gucci by Gucci, and so on... So the opening is actually very fresh, truly aquatic, fresh a bit salty but with a steady decent into more floral territory. This is that violet leaf, dry ionones sort of tinge but if this was a violet fragrance I expect I would like it. I sampled this without prior knowledge of the notes and I KNEW there was heliotrope in here....I couldn't place the name and kept saying Angelica no...mimosa, no....artemisia no....what is it?? I knew what I meant and seeing it here just validates how prominent it is in this fragrance.

Guilty opens on my skin with a clean, positive, uplifting, citrusy and a bit peppery lavender with the tender trace of slightly floral orange blossom. The best part of this fragrance is the opening.I wish it would last longer. Wow, so what to say about this one? Well, I do love it, not just a like for me. The issue is, I like it because of what it intended on doing. Which is old world Italian clean charm. What does that mean.. Well, my grandfather used to wear certain fragrances that had a very medicinal minty fresh vibe, like a "gin & tonic", which makes sense with the Juniper berries, bergamot, mandarin and cypress found here. So, as I'm wearing it, I get that mental image of my grandfather dressed up conducting business and just being a commanding presence. The difference here is the orange blossom, rendered so differently than normal, it is not fresh or fluffy or indolic but instead just a slightly honeyed warmth that blends perfectly and leaves Guilty Parfum smelling brighter and warmer than Cooper Square, Zino, and others, which makes it much more friendly and to my nose, enjoyable. If I didn't discover BDC EDP in my journey this would have easily become my Spring office scent. I'm tempted to make this winter office but it doesn't have enough winter season vibes. I have Sauvage EDP for that with the nutmeg. Three stages are... unusual fresh, seaside floral opening, into a heart that is almost a scrubber, it's that bad. Let me just say that this could be a taste thing on my part but I found it really sour and unpleasant combination. Then when nearly dead and settled right the way down comes a woody, synthetic aroma chemical heaven of timbersilk, clearwood, synth ambers? and like that.....all is well.An excellent release from Gucci that isn't getting enough credit because it's not as daring as Guilty Absolute. However I would argue that the amount of florals in this fragrance make it just as daring for a designer. Many people here are experience with niche and unisex frags and won't see this in the same context as a normal dude at Macy's. Clean masculine elegance right here . The original Guilty edt but he's all grown up now, salt and pepper hair and beard. It's so rare - and welcomed - to have a scent profile like this be aimed at the 35+ crowd. The bottle is crafted of cold metal and heavy glass, making an impression of masculinity and luxury. Paired with the feminine edition, all splendid and golden, cabochon grey male bottle seems very elegant and alluring. The middle of the bottle is decorated with a metallic Gucci sign, transparent to reveal the fragrant fluid. This perfume bears a resemblance to Elizabeth Arden's Untold but only at the initial spray. Untold is pure white floral and green to my nose and a little too mature for my tastes. Guilty is sweeter and deeper.

i run my own business so i have no idea about office scents, but this would almost be it i guess. the problem is that its overpowering in a synthetic way. and ive smelt this on people before, and it never really fit them. its too soapy and constantly gives me the axe wibe, or way too much scented fabric softener. If this DNA gets popular and people accept it, I am sure many other houses will go this way in the future. The Heliotrope adds a lush nectar/sweetness with maybe even some heft! The only base I can really detect is Cedar which I have come to love. After some hours, the final drydown does seem to have the White Musk factor and it is barely detectable--but 'gamey' and classy.

Too little, too late and overall I have to say I plain dislike this fragrance and would never wear it, categorising it as a stinker. Is it unique? Probably not, but it's memorable in its own way. Inoffensive but classy. A woman who wears this probably looks like they have their life figured out, and they're living their best life globe-trotting. I'll wear it to have that illusion of getting my life together (LOL). Originally tried this a few years ago when a buddy of mine got some free Guilty samples from a customer that he was doing some work for. I thought the shower gel and cologne smelled incredible at the time, and I thought about buying a whole bottle. A couple years later, I'm looking online for a new cologne as I just ran out of all the stuff I use. This cologne was the FIRST thing that came to my head, but something inside of me was telling me to just get a sample size.... So I got a whole bunch of samples from MicroPerfumes to see what I like. And boy was I happy that I got a bunch of other stuff, because I found that when compared to a whole bunch of other things, this was actually near the bottom-middle of my list. It's not bad by any means, it's just very boring to me. Not at all like I remember it a few years ago. It just smells like another typical male lavender based fragrance with the Gucci emblem slapped on it in a cool bottle, there are plenty of better ones out there. On the bright side... I can kind of thank this fragrance for re-introducing me to the fragrance world again, after testing so many different products I realize that you can't just have one... kind of like my sneaker collection. A fine fragrance, I don't dislike it. It's just nothing special and doesn't live up to the hype that I once gave it. Unlike GGA, it's not a love at first sniff. I like, but not sure I could pull it off, as I'm not sure it would fit my personality... will have to waer it again before thinking at a full bottle. But for sure, I have to admit that it's really a new kind of masculine floral, very unique, that Gucci has issued here. Great job! It has told me, "shut-up, stop overthinking and just wear me" reminding me of the basic function of a perfume, and I have submitted to its commands. It has restarted everything for me and told me it is as much functional as it is art. I needed Gucci Guilty Cologne to remind me that perfume is equally an art as it is functional. I find it calming and addicting and it has become one of my favorite signatures to reach for this spring and summer. I look forward to also wearing it this fall and winter. Unique, avant-garde, but ultra-modern and clean. A misunderstood masterpiece in my opinion.
