The Ruko F11 Gim 2 drone is a camera drone that is priced in the mid-range. While connected to the WiFi network, the Gim 2 drone begins collecting photographs and movies with its FHD camera. This is a fantastic option for anyone seeking a low-cost camera drone. Why Not Go with Other Brands? If you’re looking for one of the greatest inexpensive drones, you’ve come to the correct spot. Ruko is a well-known drone manufacturer that provides high-quality goods at reasonable costs. They have one of the finest price-to-quality ratios in this price range, making them one of the top drone brands. The build quality of the drone and controller is pretty good for the price of the drone. The drone weighs 566g with the battery installed which weighs 200g itself. The controller weighs 279g and has an integrated 1500mAh battery. You can see the dimensions of the drone folded and unfolded and the controller on screen. There’s no microSD card supplied with the drone but the integrated microSD slot can take up to a 128GB card. I’m using a 64GB SanDisk Extreme card.The bottom of the screen shows the distance and altitude in metres and the speed in m/s. You can change the units in settings to km/h or mph. And at the top of the screen you can see the battery level of the controller, the GPS signal strength and the battery level of the drone. The controller and drone show a battery gauge and the voltage of their respective batteries – 4.2V maximum for the single 3.7V LiPo battery in the controller and 12.6V for the 3 cell 11.1V LiPo battery in the drone. You don’t need to have an SD card installed – you can still record photos and videos – you just won’t be able to access the full capabilities of the 4K camera in video mode. It also has two batteries, allowing users to fly for twice as long as before. The Ruko F11 GIM2 beginner drone has its strengths and weaknesses. It's somewhat heavy, and the camera performance is okay at best, but it's easy enough to fly, and thanks to the spare battery and carry case included in the price, it's a decent value-for-money proposition. Features: Lots of advanced features when you get the app, they will allow you to dip your toes in, but do not expect them to be incredibly fleshed out. For instance, the "follow me drone" feature was cool, but it definitely was too slow if I wanted to take it snowboarding with me. This is a beginner drone remember this. In this flight I got 25 minutes of flight time before I got the audible battery warning which triggered the return to home. By the time I’d landed the drone I’d had around 26 minutes of total flight time – a little under the quoted 28 minutes. But this is pretty close and will vary depending on how you fly the drone and wind conditions. Two things that the Ruko F11 GIM2 has going for it are flight stability and anti-shake. Although I found it hard to control the angle of the camera smoothly, thanks to the heavier, more wind-resistant body and the EIS anti-shake tech, the videos aren't as shaky as some similar footage captured with smaller drones.

I learned the hard way that's only partially the case. As the F11 GIM2 took off, it started wobbling, moving around in larger and larger swings. In an attempt to stabilise it, I started fiddling with the controls, but I couldn't stop the movement, and the drone flew into the wall, damaging one of the rear arms in the process. I know camera performance will forever be the weak spot of more accessibly priced drones, but it shouldn't be, especially in the case of the Ruko F11 GIM2, which is a heavier drone, so it could support a larger camera unit. Sure, you can mount an Insta360 GO 3 on the drone and capture much better footage – many drone pilots did this with the Insta360 GO 2, and there is even a special, third-party mount designed for the purpose. Below the photo button on the left there’s a jog dial to zoom in digitally up to 5x – that directly mimics the app zoom function so you still only see this in live view – not your recordings. The right jog dial adjusts the gimbal angle like in the app but it’s far more convenient using this dial. By default the gimbal looks straight ahead but you can adjust it to point almost directly downwards – around 80°. There’s a small delay between activating this dial and the gimbal responding but it moves smoothly if you keep hold of the dial. With a weight of 19.72 oz/559 g, you can’t take advantage of the fewer regulations that come with sub 250 g drones. This means that you can’t fly the Ruko F11GIM2 as close to people and built-up areas, which is why beginners are often attracted to smaller and lighter models to make day-to-day flying easier and less restrictive.
