About this deal

In practice, the Pro Breeze 12L Low Energy dehumidifier uses an average of 220W to operate. This is far less than the 440W the Pro Breeze 20L Premium Dehumidifier with Special Laundry Modeuses, but still far higher than the comparable MeacoDry Arete One 12L Dehumidifier which uses on average just 151W. However, it's not perfect. A powerful extraction rate of 20L, plus that Laundry boost mode, means higher running costs. This dehumidifier guzzles 440W of energy compared to the 20L MeacoDry Arete One's 216W. What the Pro Breeze 20L Premium does offer is a more generous water tank of 5.5L compared to the 20L MeacoDry Arete One's 4.8L, although in practice we didn't find ourselves emptying the MeacoDry that much more frequently.

Suitability - Unlike most dehumidifiers which work best between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius, the Pro Breeze 10L Desiccant Dehumidifier works between 1 and 40 degrees Celsius. It's therefore perfect for winters and colder environments. It works wonders on preventing condensation. It can be used in damp homes, basements, garages, bedrooms, wardrobes and kitchens, to name a few.

What can we see from the table? We can see that refrigerant dehumidifiers typically use less energy than desiccant types. It is important to factor this difference in when choosing which type. There are some very important caveats on the refrigerant vs desiccant question, however: Cold Temperatures: While regular compressor dehumidifiers work well between 20-30°C, they stop collecting moisture below 15°C, meaning they are unsuitable for colder environments. The Pro Breeze Desiccant Dehumidifier is designed to collect water in temperatures as low as 1°C and perfect for colder rooms or during the winter. There are a couple of complaints, similar to mine, regarding its noise levels, stating that it’s not quiet even when on its lowest fan setting, and certainly not in night mode, or on a high fan speed setting. A dehumidifier's extraction rate is an average of how much moisture it can remove from the air during a given timeframe. Most commonly this is measured in litres per day, so an extraction rate of 10L/per day means the dehumidifier should be able to extract 10 litres of moisture within 24 hours if running continuously. In practice, this also depends on the humidity levels of the room, and the ambient temperature. Reduce Clothing Drying Time: A great way to absorb moisture in the air when drying your clothes—offering a reliable & cost-effective boost to all your laundry-drying needs.

Silent Dehumidification】This dehumidifier for home employs silent compressor technology, producing a working sound lower than 41dB, quieter than a library in your room. Activate night mode for a tranquil, undisturbed night's rest If you have more serious damp issues, then although a dehumidifier can help to reduce the problem and improve the air quality in your home, it won't prevent the damp from occurring in the first place, so it's important to get to the root of the issue. Read our guide to how to get rid of damp for help in identifying the cause of your damp issues, and how to treat them. Cold Temperatures: Whilst regular compressor dehumidifiers work well between 20-30°C, they stop collecting moisture below 15°C meaning they are unsuitable for colder environments. This unit is designed to collect water in temperatures as low as 1°C and is perfect for colder rooms or during the winter. So, we have seen that energy usage depends on factors such as dehumidifier type, brand and extraction rate. Throughout our time reviewing dehumidifiers, we have noticed that higher-end brands are often more energy-efficient than cheaper lower quality models.

Capacities - The Pro Breeze 10L Desiccant Dehumidifier is capable of extracting up to 10 litres of water per day. It deposits this water into either a 3 litre water tank or directly down the drain if set up with the included continuous drainage hose. Once the tank reaches capacity, the appliance will automatically shut off. However, to help give an overview, here are some key facts it's useful to know before searching for the best dehumidifier for the task in hand. What are the main types of dehumidifier? Finding the best dehumidifier for your home depends a lot on the type of moisture issue you're trying to solve, so it's always worth speaking with the customer service department of the manufacturer you're hoping to buy from to ensure you have the right model for your needs. Overall, this is a best-in-class dehumidifier that does a fantastic job of extracting moisture from the home and is one of the best dehumidifier for drying washing fast.

Whilst this dehumidifier doesn't offer a specific laundry drying function, we still found it helpful at drying wet washing, although it took longer to do so than the MeacoDry Arete One Dehumidifier or Pro Breeze 20L Premium Dehumidifier with Special Laundry Mode which both offer a speedy dedicated laundry-drying boost mode.Overall, it's not the most powerful dehumidifier you can buy, and it can't cope with high moisture levels – we found it made little difference when drying wet washing for example. However, it did a great job of clearing condensation on windows and managing moisture levels in a small bedroom when left running overnight.

If you want a dehumidifier of a similar power and price point, the slightly more expensive ProBreeze 1500ml Mini Dehumidifier remains our best budget buy, offering a better extraction rate of 0.5L and a larger 1.5L water tank, which means you won’t be emptying it quite so frequently. That said, the ProBreeze 1500ml Mini Dehumidifier is also larger in size, measuring H30 x W22 x D16cm compared to the Russell Hobbs' H22 x W14 x D14cm frame. And, the ProBreeze 1500ml is twice the weight, weighing in at 1.85kg.Only use the dehumidifier when it’s needed, typically during the more humid months. There’s no need to run it during drier seasons, and this will save energy and cost. I was less impressed by the unit's sleep function, as it meant I couldn’t adjust the fan speed, and although this dehumidifier is noisy in all modes (more on that below), it is even more so on a high fan setting.
