About this deal

The Brunel SP27 is an established microscope in our series for student and amateur use. This is an extremely versatile instrument with excellent LED illumination that allows the instrument to be used away from an electricity supply. An excellent specification including rotating monocular head with a x10 widefield eyepiece, four position turret with x4, x10, x40 and x100(oil) achromatic objectives together with a good sized full mechanical stage with coaxial drop down controls and a double vernier scale.

Monocular. x10 widefield eyepiece. DIN standard objectives x4. x10, x40, x100 (oil). Magnification range x40 - x1000. Full substage condenser. Inbuilt 240 volts halogen illumination or LED depending on choice. Mechanical stage. Extremely good value for money. The SP52 trinocular is a modern microscope with an LED light source with rheostat brightness control. The good size mechanical stage has drop down coaxial controls with a double vernier scale location system. It is rare for societies and professional groups to get government to listen and react to their messages, and all credit must go to the BBKA for getting recognition where it counts for two very important facts.

Because of the laws of optical physics, the x100 objectives of all biological microscopes need to be used with oil between the bottom lens of the objective and the coverslip of the specimen to ensure a clear image. This immersion oil has the same refractive index as glass and has to be used Experience has shown us that not all applications (especially those used in schools) need the x100 oil immersion lens particularly with wet preparations such as pond life specimens. We have this microscope in two versions, one with a x100 oil immersion lens to give a x1000 maximum magnification (SP22) and one without but with two different magnification eyepieces (x10 and x20) that will give a maximum magnification of x800 without the need for immersion oil (SP21). In all other respects the microscopes are identical. Objectives x4, x10, x40 and x100 (oil immersion). Eyepiece x10 wide field. Magnification range x40 to x1000. These days even toy microscopes have inbuilt battery lighting - for what its worth! However we offer Illumination by rheostat controlled LED lighting. Most notable is that the SP14 comes with its own carrying case which is a significant bonus in reducing price.

The SP52 has a full substage which includes an Abbe condenser with an independent focus control (N.A. 1.25) with lateral adjustment, iris diaphragm and filter carrier. DIN standard parfocal objectives. The high power objectives have retractable front lenses for slide safety. The Brunel SP52 is probably pound for pound the best value compound microscope in our range. This instrument bridges the gap between microscopes best suited for amateur and professional use. Standard features include a quadruple nosepiece turret with achromatic objectives x4, x10, x40 and x100 (oil). Matched with x10 wide field eyepieces gives the SP52 a magnification range of x40 to x1000. The SP52 has a coaxial coarse and fine focus mechanism, with tension control and focus stop. This is a good sized microscope with a robust stand well suited for the rigours of educational use or commercial applications whilst being ideal for the serious amateur microscopist. It also has the additional features of an adjustable focus stop and tension arrangement Accessories SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop SecureShop Biological Microscopes Achromatic objectives x4 x10, x40, x100 (oil). Eyepiece x10 wide field. Full mechanical stage with drop down coaxial controls. LED brightness controlled illumination system. An excellent microscope and without equal in its price range. Magnification range x40 to x1000. A carrying case is available as an accessory. This is a unique optical accessory, and is an exceptional device for the inquiring naturalist. The unit converts any pair of roof prism binoculars into a fixed magnification stereomicroscope. The controls of the binoculars are used normally. The binoculars are simply placed on the stand and used as a stereomicroscope using the focus controls of the stand itself. The magnification depends on the power of the binoculars. For example 10 x 25 binoculars converts to a x20 stereomicroscope. We also offer a suitable pair of Waltex binoculars (10 x 25) that are fully rubberised with an excellent optical performanceThe Brunel Fieldscope is an extremely useful field tool. It consists of three optical systems in one. Complete the Fieldscope is a x25 hand microscope with micrometer scale that measures both in inches and millimetres. The scale and the microscope focus independently, and gives a field of view of 9.5mm, with the clear skirt allowing excellent illumination. The Fieldscope divides into two components - a x4 hand lens (field of view 70mm) and a telescope with variable focus which gives excellent clarity and is ideal as a spotting scope. The complete unit weighs 290gms and measures 210mm in height. Our experience tells us that attaching a camera while still being able to look through the microscope is a distinct advantage and we have therefore developed an alternative head for the SP30 that allows this to happen. The SP30 Teaching Head has a vertical eyetube behind the viewing eyetube which allows a camera to be attached at the same time.
