About this deal

Many people outside of Japan like to play the “oh, but the age of consent in Japan is thirteen” card, but laws passed more recently in most prefectures have stated that it’s illegal for a person over twenty to have romantic/sexual relationships with people under eighteen. A personal interest for me is characterization in media and how women in particular have been portrayed, are being portrayed, and will be portrayed in the future.

It is quite difficult to discern who is talking and following conversations is nearly impossible the first time around. BUT: The mangakas herself stated it was her first BL, so she didn't mind if she used overused and cliche plots.

There isn’t an overarching plot, as the story unfolds, with each chapter presenting a new situation for the characters to have to come to terms with. I will not disregard the fact that it felt like the story could've been more than it was, if you shake it up a bit and flesh it all out, but I feel that Nakamura-sensei made it like that so we DO actually feel the bottled-up soda pop of love that Kusakabe and Sajou-kun are experiencing. It follows the lives of the newly wedded Hikaru Kusakabe and Rihito Sajou as they prepare to move in together.

So when I stumbled upon a manga that contained yaoi but, to my knowledge, none of that garbage, I naturally became quite excited and couldn't help but jump straight into it. Time leaps are pretty poorly written, and, overall, piecing out how events take place is more a matter of figuring it out from characters' conversations than actually seeing them happen. I was reluctant to read this manga because i'm a big fool and mistook her style for "Kami no Kodomo" authors' (who's works i found quite creepy Reading the manga, we discover their quirks and thoughts and personalities, even if their backgrounds are only revealed little by little. the only problem i have with the manga is with harasen, he really had no business being that close to his students. It follows a romance between the two of them as they grow up, and sort out their feeling about their relationship and what it means to like another man. Whether it is enjoyment or disappointment that I experience, I feel that I do not need to review what I have read or watched with others. Despite not usually gravitating towards romance, I had seen the art for this story floating around my circles. There are many reasons you should read Manga online, and if you are a fan of this unique storytelling style then learning about them is a must.

Mangaka Asumiko Nakamura's other works will also be allowed expression as part of the Doukyuusei-Classmates world. Suffering from an unrequited love with Sajou and with the discovery of the relationship of the main cast. Also the fact that the other characters have no problem with it really irks me (especially that one scene where some of the other teachers were ASKING him which student he has a crush on 💀💀), and when I found out he was THIRTY FIVE FUCKING YEARS OLD reaallyy made me not like him. The way their relationship clashed at times and also flourished was extremely fascinating to witness. The days where the two of them bond with the lyrics and notes has given Kusakabe a chance to know Rihito better. I tend to stay away from BL manga, primarily because of that completely ridiculous notion that I should apparently find guy-on-guy rape titillating. I never thought that cliché was bad if it was well made, and this story is like that, it was so simple and at the same time for the smallest yet sweetest parts my heart throbbed, really lol. It doesn't really have an over-arching plot, aside from the unfolding of Sajou and Kusakabe's love affair.
