About this deal

alternatively titled: a bland man does the bare minimum and people eat it up like he’s an austen character. But wait, there's more. We're not just any old book club. We're a book club with a heart. You can even influence our collection! Each user gets three free book requests every month. Just tell us what you'd like to see in our collection, and if we can get our hands on it from the publisher, we'll add it within 24 hours. How cool is that? It ends with us was about Lily and her journey to end the cycle of abuse. It starts with Us is about Lily and Atlas navigating life after ending their own cycles. The only thing these stories have in common is their starting point. Each author showcased in this anthology was featured in The Bookworm Box in 2020. Each author has graciously donated their story so that 100% of profits from this anthology will be going to the various charities The Bookworm Box is able to support because of you, the readers.

I think it’s important to note that Hoover also paints Lily a very supportive family/friends network—in her instance, her support system in regards to standing up to Rile is his family. Most people likely don’t have this, but it absolutely worked in this instance, for these characters as we’ve come to know them over these 2 books. And get this – you can read your books on as many devices as you want. That means you can choose any app to host your book collection, and read on the go, wherever you are! I feel like Colleen Hoover is a hit or a miss for people. I would say give this one a try! It was very good, fast read. what made me dislike the second book was lily’s personality, because I thought that she had overcome all her weaknesses and had finally become stronger but this book crushed all of those thoughts for me.

Not to mention the fact that Lily’s closest friends are Ryle’s sister and his best friend; it is close to impossible to heal from abuse when you are still in such close proximity to your abuser. The way Allysa and Marshall talk about Ryle as if he’s a little kid who just gets mean sometimes, instead of the violent wife beater and attempted rapist that he is, is so strange…. Maybe I’m the weird one, but if someone I “love like a brother” were to push their partner down the stairs and bite them so hard they bled, I simply wouldn’t love them like a brother anymore! Allysa in particular was extremely annoying in this book. “Why would Ryle hate Atlas if you didn’t cheat on him 🥺🥺” idk girl maybe it’s because he’s abusive, which you have known for years now! The whole “me cheating on my husband doesn’t count because I was 19 ✨” thing was also??????????? This lends perspective - and a few different ones at that - to an important subject. Everyone should read this. It might just open your eyes and your mind. Colleen Hoover's books are some of our most popular. We have gathered a few questions to help you decide the best Colleen Hoover book to read. For the Ryle apologist and stans: I’m so glad Colleen wrote this book because there’s NO room for y’all’s bullshit. He is an abuser. This isn’t a dark romance. This is a contemporary romance where an abuser stays abusive, continues to be abusive in the tiniest ways and the cycles are broken. He truly and will forever be a terrible person and I’m so glad that this book continuously highlighted that. Abusers don’t “change” and even if they do, the cycle should be broken forever.
