About this deal

This smart charger from Ring does basically all batteries except lithium and features a seven-stage charging process that's supposed to be kinder on your battery. Charge the unit, and then take it on tour. Once charged, it'll hold its power for a year and will recover a dead bike battery enough to start your engine in around 15 minutes. The charge is delivered to your battery progressively, too – reducing the risk of jump-start damage. It's absolutely superb and really works. Yes, it's a pricey solution, but it works brilliantly and is invaluable if you're off the grid where your bike lives. Bin the Oximiser and buy a Ctek. Oxford products are built down to a price and only exist to provide dealers with a profit margin. Is this charge suitable for Lithium Batteries. The Oxford Oximiser 3800 is capable of charging batteries from 1.2Ah up to 125Ah making it capable for carapplications. I expect the charger is fully working, but if the battery was dud then the charger should tell me so... Battery chargers have come a long way in the last 10 years. Time was you needed a different unit for your bike from your car and the charging technology was clumsy and a bit ‘brute-force’. Smart chargers changed all that and many, like this one, have algorithms that assess the condition of your battery and apply the optimal charging cycle to keep it healthy. The oxford 3x is oxford's most versatile, most powerful, multi purpose battery maintenance product. It offers not one ...The Oxford Oximiser comes supplied with a connection wire which can be permanently attached to your battery. The wire leading from the battery ends in a connection point which can be placed in a convenient position such as under the seat etc. Does it mean you can connect it to your bike whilst you are riding it, or just when it is instorage? November 30, 2011 These put some load on the battery so that it isn’t simply under constant charge, as this can also, paradoxically, damage the battery and reduce its capacity as well.

I tried what you suggested Matt, didn't seem to make any difference. Doesn't deliver any current to the discharged battery at all. The charger works fine on the other battery though, but the resting voltage of mine is about 10.1v, surely that's chargeable? Tempted to jump out to tesco and grab a cheapo charger and see if it works. I can't even use the other battery from the ZX7R in the 10R as its far too big. Tested by Richard Newland for 4 months. Quality 5/5, Value 3/5. Bike batteries are getting smaller and lighter – but the stress our bikes put on them with ever-more powerful electronics systems and auxiliary add-ons is getting greater than ever. It doesn't take much to find you're out of juice when you hit the magic starter button. But if you don't have bike storage with mains electricity, what do you do? You get one of these. If the battery is deeply discharged to approximately 4.1 Volts, the Oximiser 900 will charge at up to 900mA/hr until it reaches 11.8 Volts and the bulk charge mode (The Oximiser 900 will otherwise apply a gentle charge up-to 200mA/h to ensure the battery is brought up to a fullcharge). My only real niggle is that the mains lead is short, making connection to a battery that’s still in the bike a bit clumsy at times, needing an extension lead.

It's almost like sometimes it doesn't even see the battery, sometimes the charger does nothing when connected to it. Why even consider using an oxford charger if you have a good LiPo charger? most will do Pb, and do it far better than even the top end automotive poo. My bike wouldn't start after a month of autumn inactivity, but a 30-minute top-up from the Ring charger had it firing on the button again. Lesson learned - just leave it plugged in. This will be fine - let the battery stand for an hour before charging, and leave the cap off while charging for the firsttime. I bought this item and connected it up. It charges on bulk charge 0.87 amps then drops to maintain at 0.25 amps. I left it on for two days, the battery shows 12.8 volts plus, but it won't turn the engine over enough to start. If I use my old style car charger it will charge up ok but doesn't hold the charge for more than a few days even with the oximiser attached. Anyadvice?
