So, I'm not exaggerating when I say that when I received this ARC, I literally jumped, skipped and hopped in joy! She’s working towards an exciting new job and now she’s just been told that if she can pull off a presentation back in London, her new job will be much more exciting than she imagined. Angela finds it very unsettling being back in her home town she has changed so much through the previous four books that she no longer sees London as home. Maybe it was a good sign that this time it's not Angela digging herself deeper into whatever-hole-of-mess. She's back in her 'normal' environment with her crazy parents, bestie since forever, and old demon ex Mark. Jenny is almost as awful, lashing out at others because she’s heartbroken, while Louisa is equally unpleasant as the jealous friend (although for good reason). I'm with Alex on this one, she brings most of her troubles onto herself, and is a bossy control freak. Cassandra also differentiates between the characters well with her different accents and tones so it feels you are right there in the centre of the action! I disconnected with her pretty fast, I can put some of her stupidity down to naivety if she was in her early twenties, but come on !But when she’s summoned home to England, she’s at risk of losing her shiny new life to rain, warm beer and bad memories. I remember when another friend had chosen someone else to be their maid of honour, but I was too busy to care too much.

I also found Mark's character to be somewhat lacking, but I am not sure if this was intentional on Kelk's part. I really liked Jenny in I Heart New York and this may be the one part where not reading books 2, 3 and 4 became a bit problematic. Lindsey lived in London before New York so really knows the city inside out so even if you haven't been you will feel like you have. Lindsey Kelk has done a fantastic job bringing these characters to life and I will really miss new adventures from them but the I Heart series are books that I will go back to over time an re read, and there's not many books I say that about !
