As part of the promotion for Brian’s forthcoming book Stereoscopy Is Good For You: Life in 3-D, a leading London photography gallery shall run a five-month exhibition, showcasing some of the captivating imagery. While getting books signed by Brian May, visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the wonders of the exhibition – “Stereoscopy Is Good For You: Life in 3-D”. This is a unique display, inviting visitors to delve into the magic of stereoscopy from the Victorian era to the present, culminating with a captivating display of images from the modern-day stereo community. BRIAN MAY: “STEREOSCOPY – the Dawn of 3-D” – is the book I have dreamed of publishing since we resurrected the London Stereoscopic Company in 2006.

There's a real nice spot [in the show] there it's set up for a guitar hero, so for a moment I can be a guitar hero," he said. As well as many images from Europe, Stereoscopy is Good for You features work from farther-flung places. And that's what I enjoy: the writing, the production and the arrangement, but working with a singer. And so began the epic mission of selecting and polishing the most expressive photos to compile Stereoscopy Is Good For You: Life in 3-D. This year marks a special milestone in the career of Queen, which May formed with Roger Taylor, John Deacon and the late Freddie Mercury in the early '70s: It's the 40th anniversary of the band's self-titled debut record. The images were of two photographs of the same subject, taken from viewpoints about the same distance apart as human eyes. Last week, he was in Baltimore for the kickoff of the "We Will Rock You" musical tour in North America. In the 1960s, he came across a Diablerie, a type of French stereoscopic card from the mid-19th century whose image is from a diorama depicting a unique vision of hell rendered in a Victorian context, evoking both spookiness and humor.

As it turned out, most of the people who submitted work are represented in some way, but of course some people put in irresistible work, so were featured more than once. Featuring more than 100 photographers, the range of subjects in these modern stereo pictures is immense. The result is an extraordinary outpouring of emotion and creativity featuring Nature, their pets, architecture, people and much more.In fact, the book had already gone to press by the time of the Ukraine invasion, but we wondered if we should have taken them out. Working on this project, I learned all over again that the photographs we take say a lot more about US than the subject we capture. First, there's a new Queen record planned for possibly next year that would include previously unreleased material, such as Mercury's collaborations with Michael Jackson back in the '80s. It's been a hard road because we got slaughtered with the reviews when we first opened in London," he said.
