Amarula er en Sydafirkansk flødelikør med noget af en historie bag sig. Det hele handler om frugterne fra Marula-træet, som vokser i Sydafrika og er de er grundlaget til denne likør. Træet bærer frugt én gang om året, og når frugterne modnes af solen, produceres der alkohol - dette tiltrækker blandt andet elefanter, som fungerer som indikatorer for, hvornår høsten af frugterne skal påbegyndes. Efter høsten bruger man to år på at udvikle det, der bliver til en likør med en rigtig god smag. Amarula er baseret på flødelikør og har en smag af vanilje og tropefrugt.
