About this deal

Anyways, I kinda lost interest, I hardly use my mobile phone at all, {except to lookup the time of my bus} so am not so very miffed by not getting The 4GEE Home Router 2 meanwhile matches the Huawei B535 / Huawei HomeFi Plus for speed, and can connect up to 64 devices at once, but it has two (rather than four) ethernet ports. So again, it’s not quite as good as the B535.

Beyond these, the most obvious alternative is fibre broadband. This is potentially faster (depending on what’s available where you are), but setup is more time consuming and typically requires an engineer visit. You also typically need a landline, which can add to the cost. Plans The design of the Huawei B535 WebBoxis nothing to get excited about, but that’s ok. Its plain white build will disappear neatly into almost any home. Most people don’t want their routers to stand out, and this one certainly doesn’t, even compared to the newer Three 5G Hub. In theory, the modem of the Huawei B535 LTE router can reach speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s in the downlink and up to 100 Mbit/s in the uplink (LTE Cat7). Almost all frequency bands important for Europe are supported, as the following list shows. Only the band 32 (1,500 MHz) cannot be used by the router, but there are no restrictions. Huawei does not provide any information about the possible CA combinations. Still, maybe you’ve already got the Huawei B535 WebBox and are wondering whether there’s any need to upgrade, or maybe you’re considering buying it from elsewhere. In either case, our review can help you decide. For a budget 2×2 MiMo Antenna then the Panorama DMM-6-602sp-5G is a low cost 4G antenna with 2m of cable that will provide a nice solution for a window based antenna for this router. It’s a simple, plain white rectangular box with some status indicators on the front and a grey band around the edge. It looks fine, and for better or worse it won’t stand out as much as the aforementioned Huawei AI Cube, or even the likes of the Vodafone GigaCube, which is plain too but has a more noticeable tower-like design.

I read on a couple of Vodafone forum threads that there may be an issue with the IPv4 or IPv6 APNs, so a similar situation as you discovered earlier in the thread. There’s also the option to connect an external antenna as it has support for two SMA antennas, to potentially improve the range and performance of the device. This again is a match for most rival devices.

Should I consider a 5G Router?

Unfortunately, this is of little practical value here, because (a) the 4G aerial and B535 are in a different building; and (b) the load balancing can only be done via the USG. And the ADSL service is not great .... The Huawei B535 WebBox / Huawei HomeFi Plus is one of the very best 4G routers available and arguably the best sold by a UK network at the time of writing. One of the joys of 4G routers is that they’re usually incredibly easy to set up, as is the case with the Huawei B535 / Huawei HomeFi Plus. As soon as a wall came between the router and the end device, the data rate dropped noticeably. Fast surfing and video streaming was also about 10 meters away from the router and was still possible without problems after two walls. The Wi-Fi range of the Huawei B535 was convincing in the test! So that the maximum LTE speed also reaches the connected end devices, a fast WLAN module is of course required. The Huawei B535 supports WLAN ac at 2.4 GHz with up to 300 Mbit/s and at 5 GHz with up to 867 Mbit/s. In the test, the 867 Mbit/s could also be reached up to 5 meters by line of sight.
