European health officials say they are investigating a “rapidly evolving” outbreak of salmonella in 134 children that appears to be linked to chocolate Easter eggs that normally contain a surprise toy inside. The UK’s Food Standards Agency said: “Ferrero is recalling the above products. Point of sale notices will be displayed in retail stores that are selling these products. Although none of our Kinder products released to market have tested positive for salmonella, and we have received no consumer complaints, we are taking this extremely seriously as consumer care is our top priority.”
