Welcome to the family,” Nina Winchester says as I shake her elegant, manicured hand. I smile politely, gazing around the marble hallway. Working here is my last chance to start fresh. I can pretend to be whoever I like. But I’ll soon learn that the Winchesters’ secrets are far more dangerous than my own…

The Devil Wears Scrubs” is the first novel in the “Dr. Jane McGill” series and was released in the year 2013. Jane McGill, a newly minted doctor, is in hell. Not literally, fortunately. But between the sleepless nights she spends on call, her drug addict patients, and battling wits with the charming yet sadistic Sexy Surgeon, Jane cannot imagine an afterlife that is worse than her first month of medical internship at County Hospital.Somebody knows who Nora is. Somebody wants her to take the fall for this unthinkable crime. But she’s not a killer like her father. The police can’t pin anything on her. While I’ve rewatched the original Scream multiple times, I saw the sequel twice at most, maybe 15 or 20 years ago now (yikes, that makes me feel old to type out). That is how striking the similarity here is, to immediately remind me of a movie/character I haven’t seen or thought of in years. Margie/Pamela simply is Mrs. Loomis. Erika has always sensed something dark and disturbed in her seemingly perfect older child. She wants to believe he's innocent, but as the evidence mounts, she can't deny the truth--Liam may have done the unthinkable. I have read all the books except the 2 short stories. For some reason I have never liked short stories. All the rest, I just devoured continuously til they were all read. I listened to the audio version and the narrator did a great job! This was my first 🎧 by Freida McFadden and I am already searching for more of her works!

So now, the 3 lives of the “survivors” intersect in the present. Brooke is a nurse practitioner who is desperate for work and can only find a job in a all men’s penitentiary, the exact same one where Brandon is. Tim who was present also on that fatal night, and who was her childhood best friend, her first practice kiss, and now her son’s school principal, renews his friendship with Brooke and the more than casual interest that he had in her…( he claims he has always loved her). THE INMATE is a psychological thriller by bestselling author Freida McFadden. This is the eleventh book I have read from this author, and having loved her novels, I was eager to start reading it. As an avid reader of psychological thrillers, I can only say, treat yourself and read all of her books! Her books are so good! Both Shane and Billy date the daughters of the people their parents had an affair with and then attempt to kill them, but only right after deflowering them, of course. And rather than just kill the daughters (Brooke and Sidney), they go ahead and up the body count because hey, why not?The Devil You Know” is the second novel in the “Dr. Jane McGill” series and was released in the year 2017. Dr. Jane McGill is currently in heaven. She has a great job at a VA hospital, a loving husband, and an adorable daughter. Granted, it would be that much more wonderful if her preschooler didn’t wake her up at three in the morning, and it’d be a miracle if her husband would change the toilet paper roll once every millennium. Still, in many ways, she lives the ideal life that she had always imagined. She is so broke that despite working two jobs, she can’t even afford a present for her husband on their first Christmas as man and wife. But then a mysterious storekeeper at a pawn shop offers Stella an intriguing trade. Every day I clean the Winchesters’ beautiful house top to bottom. I collect their daughter from school. And I cook a delicious meal for the whole family before heading up to eat alone in my tiny room on the top floor. A high school girl has vanished from Erika's quiet suburban neighborhood. The police suspect the worst--murder. And Erika's teenage son, Liam, was the last person to see the girl alive.

I “used to have” another favorite author UNTIL I read one of McFaddens books! I have read almost all of them & seriously don’t know what I am going to do now. No other author holds my attention like McFaddens. Although I would like her to write lengthier books o I don’t finish them in 1 day. Lol Reply She thought this would be a break from the stresses of work and raising her young children. A chance to repair her damaged marriage. A week of hiking and hot tubs with two other couple friends. It sounded like heaven.I love love your books . Started them a few month ago and have read at least seven. Reading the Surrogate Mother now , what a fun read. I can’t put your books down. I am afraid I will run out of your books and won’t know what to do. Keep writing your books are the best. I have recommended them to all my friends and family. Thanks for the entertainment. Reply A great career. A handsome and loving husband. A beautiful home in the suburbs and a plan to fill it with children. Life is perfect—or so it seems. AMAZING ENDINGS!! I think The Inmate was my absolute favorite. I cannot wait to read more. Your books are just amazing, I cannot put them down. Reply While eleven-year-old Nora Davis was up in her bedroom doing homework, she had no idea her father was killing women in the basement.

FREIDA MCFADDEN Discussion Questions - FREIDA MCFADDEN

Eve has a good life. She gets up each day, gets a kiss from her husband Nate, and heads off to teach math at the local high school. All is as it should be. Except… Pulls you in and for whatever reason is engaging —(some context silliness with a questionable content?) Yes! Brooke had met Shane’s mother when they were dating, just as Sidney knew who Mrs. Loomis was. But both mothers managed to change their appearances enough to successfully pull off altering their identities to get close to the main characters years later (nanny here versus a reporter in Scream 2). Side note: seriously, no one noticed or commented on the fact that Brooke was letting the mother of the man she sent to prison for attempting to murder her babysit her child. No one??? Brooke, listen to me. Tim squeezes my hand as he looks at me right in the eyes. I haven’t seen you in ten years. In that time, I’ve dated a fair number of girls. But it never worked out—it couldn’t. And it was all because I couldn’t stop thinking about you. Anyone else I dated, it wouldn’t be fair to them. His Adams apple bobs. I’ll never feel about anyone else the way I feel about you”.Mrs. Cass, we were hoping your son could answer a few questions about the girl who disappeared last night..." side note* my dog did not suffer from hunger or was neglected while both reading this book & writing my review. 😉 She can’t recognize her home. Her bedroom is unfamiliar. And she can’t remember the handsome stranger lying next to her in bed. A stranger who claims he’s her husband. Addie can't be trusted. She lies. She hurts people. She destroys lives. At least, that's what everyone says. I just finished Housemaid AND Housemaid’s Secret! Oh my goodness! Both are fantastic. So easy to read and you just cannot put them down once you start. Bought The Coworker and cannot wait to start reading it. Reply
