He doesn't make anywhere near as big a mess as he does in the movie, but still, that's some damn impressive cleaning for a seven-year-old (his age in the book) to do in just a couple of hours. That is why I was a little disappointed when I found out that they have left out some of these moments in the childrens book. Especially as a chilrens book I think they would have been better off not leaving out so many funny and great moments. Apparently the book doesn't do the movie the justice it deserves. It does not have the depth the movie has but the illustrations are so beautiful and very nice to look at. If I had children I would definitely read it to them and - of course - show them the movie since I still think that the movie is much better than the book. I didn't have quite as much fun reading the book (as you can even call it 'reading' since I've finished it in not even two minutes) as watching the movie.
