About this deal

No switch yet so the wires will have to be manually joined until my switch arrives , you will need a Two pole on/off/on type switch FORScan Lite for Android - attention: some functions are missing in FORScan Lite. Please see comparison of applications Before I read that, I was going to suggest you set it in the button test beep mode, to see if your steering wheel buttons are communicating with the car. I've copied and pasted this reply I had off @Dan P that sorted out my problems when I was having trouble, he was excellent, fair play to him. I tried searching specifically for people enabling cruise control on the same PCM as I have (EDC16C34-2), and I found Milosh's post where he details having the same problems as me. However, in my case, all the configuration fields seem to be correctly filled in already, including the Tire/Axle ratio.

What i saw was >K followed by what i typed each time , i had to over write the commands each time twice before i got each one to OK or >K Below you’ll find what we believe are the best free ELM327-compatible software for Windows, Android, and iOS devices. Best ELM327 Software for Windows Smartphones C) the tool has been through umpteen revisons and some don't allow you to complete these steps with one version of the tool You can save the Changed AS-BUILT information if you like and also save the connection log file if you like. FORScan Lite for iOS - attention: some functions are missing in FORScan Lite. Please see comparison of applicationsHere are a set of instructions that I wrote for someone else (possibly @wilto )that was having difficulty with the PCM:

Ensure there is NO yellow exlamation marks (that looks like this ) next to devices such as: USB-Serial CH340 | FT232R USB UART Prolific | USB-to-Serial | USB Serial Port | USB2.0-Serial | Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge Actually the FW for the 140 & 163 is the same and just a couple of bits tell the ECU that is has to use the maps for the 140 resp 163 engine. I then selected the Configuration & Programming menu from the vertical set of icons on the left of the Forscan window (the chip icon below the spanner icon) you need to first cut 6 wires about 3 amp will do approx 6 inches long , different colours would be better , if not then mark them individually (14 , 11 , 6 , 3 , Hcan , and Mcan. I've explicitly set the adapter to use 500,000bps in ELMConfig, and it confirms that setting in the window titlebar. Not got my switch yet , but i re-configured the ELM 327 , 6 wires , joined the required wires for Hcan bus. The FoCCCus software is originally developed for the Focus MK3. The original developer of the FoCCCus software stopped developing the software any further about 3 Years ago. Elmconfig is a program written by a guy on a Ford Focus forum (civil-zz) that uses the widely available ELM OBD reader/controller interface. Not only is this a useful DTC code reading tool but also a handy programming tool to modify various options and to enable features on Ford cars. Please do not attempt any mods unless you are comfortable to do so. Do any mods at your own risk. Forscan works on most Ford vehicles up most recent ones. DTC reading-erasing, service procedures, injector coding, DPF force regeneration and lot more. And it is FREE. Works on all Windows versions and some other operating systems as well. The software is updated often, new features added several times a month!

If i mess up my ECU (for which i have not seen one single post that this has happened) then it will be my fault. ScanMaster-ELM is a OBD-2/EOBD diagnostic scan tool for vehicle diagnostics under OBD-II/EOBD standards that were developed specifically for the ELM327 chip from the company ELM Electronics. In conjunction with an ELM327 based interface ScanMaster an ideal OBD solution (also scan tool or OBD scanner called) to diagnose all OBD-2-capable systems and is very suitable as well for automotive repair shops, even for seasoned home and hobby mechanics. All control devices in vehicles that support OBD-2... PCMSCAN for Windows So on Low Canbus i can goto some settings and onHigh Canbus i can goto the rest of the settings although i'm not sure what some of it is. While the Car Scanner ELM ODB2 is still in Beta version as I speak, it managed to work very well in our Windows laptop and smartphone. We were able to diagnose the OBD2 fault codes and read the sensor data in our fleet of test vehicles without encountering unusual errors. I waited until it finished reading, with ELMConfig popping up a confirmation that it took 93 minutes, at which point I decided to call it rather than risk the battery dying mid-write.

So which ELM327 compatible software should I get for my Windows, Android, iOS device?

for me upload / save / write buttons are all named wrongly which is most of the confusion. If it had "Save to PC" and "Write to vehicle" it would make MUCH more sense Module Initialization" sub-function of service function BCM/BdyCM "PATS Programming" (experimental!) for:

Do read these forums and guides first for any problems, particularly in setting up the program and modifying the interface. I will try to help with questions for Kuga people here on this forum but I am no expert. I have used this program on my Kuga and it worked for me and I simply wish to share my experience with you folks. I'm trying to enable cruise control on my Focus Mk2.5 1.6 TDCi, and am getting extremely slow speeds doing the initial step of "Read firmware from PCM to BIN-file". I'm hoping to avoid spending a heap of money on a battery charger that I'm only going to use to keep the battery going while enabling cruise control. I am, after all, trying to get away with doing this cheaply. 😉 I have a Ford Focus MK2 2.0 l petrol car. I tried for curiosity to write the odometer on my car, I was able to increase the km value, but not to decrease it from the “odometer write” menu. Than I tried to use the menu under IC programming, called “write odometer value in km” or so. As I wrote the former value from this menu, the decreasing also didn’t succeeded, but many problems came instead of. Solder pin 14 (which you just de-soldered) to the other middle pin on your switch (middle top in diagram)Don’t get me wrong about Torque Lite. The free version of Torque is good enough for basic applications but it had trouble reading the trouble codes on some Nissan and Subaru vehicles. Please FIRST move the unextracted folder to your Desktop, else below #2 step won't show "Install" option.
