About this deal

I still have my original husky carpenter bag (tote) which was my original purchase for hand tools when I became a contractor. Bag Pro’s PPE Bag features two compartments, one of which is for safety shoes and has an external access. The D-Bag is a military-grade, hybrid soft and hard shell tool bag with a ballistic 900D nylon cloth coating (which won’t rip, tear, or snag no matter what you put it through).

After 2 or 3 years I don’t feel bad getting a new one when it’s smeared with no noalox, scotch guard and mud . Makita’s 831269-3 tool bag has a large interior for storing tools and accessories and wheels for easy transporting. It features an ergonomic handle, adjustable straps and back protection and can be used as a backpack. All I know is I ended up with a Husky bag because the other choices were compromises or complete overkill. Only caveat is, if you fill it up, it becomes too heavy to carry, but I use mine for home use, not as a tradesman so that’s fine. so I own this 17in husky tote bag and it's perfect for my set up but the sides of every corner are tearing badly. The Husky tool bag offers a massive weight capacity, lots of storage, and several convenient features to make rolling it about easy and convenient. The bag is amazing, and i modified it and added wheels from an old bag, and a bit holder from yet another husky bag.

Other than the nylon straps and the massive size of this bag, it is incredibly well designed and the functionality and capacity of this rolling tote is on point. This bag measures 18 inches long, 11 inches wide, and 14 inches deep, offering much more space than almost any other tool bag on the market. Had that, and the bag my drill/recip kit came in, to throw in the back of my foreman/supervisor’s rigs for years. It has 39 different-sized pockets including tall interior pockets for long screwdrivers, zipper pockets for small parts and tools, reflective shoulders straps with extra padding, an exterior tape thong and tape measure holder. You’re lugging your tool kit up three flights of stairs and into an attic via a narrow access door and a rickety ladder to work on an HVAC system. Lastly there’s one large zippable pouch in the front center that is large enough to fit every color of electrical tape you’ve got in your truck. I actually didn’t have enough tools to fill the pouches without just stuffing random stuff in that I don’t use. Husky tool bags aren’t designed to be compatible with a specific storage system and might not fit well inside larger toolboxes or truck organization systems.

Verdict: The Husky tool bag offers impressive storage, a massive weight capacity, and sturdy wheels to get it from A to B.

I just fill up the main compartments with my bigger power tools and tuck smaller hand tools in the many pockets. They are made well enough to withstand heavy use for a while and cheap enough to replace when they need to be replaced. There is a double zipper top attachment to telescoping handle for full access to the main compartment.
