Step 1: Wrap your yarn around the item 50 times. Cut the end at the bottom edge.Cut a second piece of yarn about 10 inches long and tie it securely (I double knotted mine) around the top edge of the yarn strands.Cut the bottom edge of all the yarn strands. For the increase rows we will be working 2 stitches (the chain 3 and 1 dc) in the first st of each row.

You can substitute any yarn and hook for this stitch pattern – just remember when you substitute if your gauge is different, the finished size of your project will also be different. Abbreviations

Round 3:Slip st in first ch-3 space, ch 4 (counts as dc, ch-1), *dc in next ch-3 space, ch 1; repeat from * to corner, work 3 dc in corner ch-3 space, repeat for each side of blanket, ending with a slip st in 3rd ch of turning ch.

Step 2: Take your yarn end from the yarn ball and tie it approximately 1 to 1.5 inches from the top tie in Step 1. I include the instructions for the chain 3 at the beginning of the row for which the chain 3 counts as a stitch; rather than on the row prior after the instruction to Turn. This will make it easier to keep count of your stitches. Repeat the instructions between the asterisks the numberof times indicated. This repeat will contain of multiple instructions.
