NEW! Round Table with Tom, Stephen and William (1080i, 16:33): Director Tom Holland and Actors Stephen Geoffreys and William

The audio is equally impressive. While it's not a movie with huge amounts of dynamic effects, there were a few scenes that realy stood out and surprised me, both in movement around the room and sheer deep bass that I was not expecting. Usually these type of movies from the stereo or mono era don't have really low or agressive bass but this one does and it makes it feel a lot more modern as a result. Music is also room filling and spacious, the night club scene in particular sounds quite lively and not as flat as I was expecting. They've done a good job with the Atmos upgrade. When I first found myself becoming horror oriented at the tail end of elementary school I became obsessed with the book series Goosebumps and Shivers. This soon spilled over to the television adaptation of the Goosebumps series along with Are You Afraid of the Dark? Soon I was discovering Stephen King, serial killers, and classic horror. It was around this time that I watched Fright Night for the first time. It was on cable but I can’t remember the channel or the circumstances around it but I do remember becoming obsessed with it. Holland’s film explains Jerry’s attraction to (and pursuit of) Amy by showing a portrait of a woman who looks just like her in Jerry’s house, the memento of a long-lost love. This same gambit is used in Bram Stoker’s Dracula, though Fright Night ultimately makes much less of the resemblance than Francis Ford Coppola’s film. After Jerry vampirizes her, Amy quite literally lets her hair down, adjusting her dress so that her décolletage is prominently on display, a move Winona Ryder also makes in the Coppola film. Sony's 2160p/Dolby Vision UHD presentation of Fright Night is everything but frightful. that is filmic and faithful to the source, free of print blemishes or encode anomalies. The picture holds a natural grain structure, which is handsomelyFirstly, it looks pretty good. It has a nice filmic look with plenty of detail. Colours are rich and vibrant where necessary, while never looking artificial and there's a lot shadow detail. It can appear grainy at times however this is natural and doesn't distract. The make-up and effects look suitably gross. HDR is subtle and natural. The film does have a slightly softer look to it but it's still quite impressive.
