About this deal

With my defenses reduced to rubble around me, I felt it was time to surrender or self-destuct, Or maybe I yearned for the familiarity of unhappiness, choosing self-sabotage over uncertainty, I’d rather fuck it up than not know.

The marketing of the first book as a true story darkens the tale since this is a man who represents the worst symptoms of what capitalism and the patriarchy has done to men. This one I felt was equally as hooking, I felt like I could enjoy the presence of significant characters within the story longer.I am sure there are many readers out there that had to put down this book because they thought he was "rude" or that his language was "too inappropriate," but those people must live in a bubble of happiness and rainbows because that's not life for 90% of us. And when fulfilling our desires isn't enough anymore we want to become the object of other's desire. Anonymous is back with the intoxicating, darkly dangerous, and wildly addictive sequel to his New York Times bestselling debut novel Diary of an Oxygen Thief .

As he continues to date these women the need to promote his book becomes more and more urgent until he starts to combine online-dating with book promotion. I really enjoyed both of these books, though I don't know who I would recomend them to as they are pretty twisted.

What do we exactly look for when we scroll trough the millions of people who'd like to chat with us? It's reliving a moment in your life when you wanted to escape the silence so you try to fall in love with someone as desperate to get out the drowning void of loneliness. This culminates in him creating a fictional dating profile of a beautiful girl who cites Diary Of An Oxygen Thief as her favorite book.

After breaking up with the French girl and ending the therapy sessions he embarks on a sexual adventure encountering all manner of women online. But broken people have their own ways of protecting themselves even if it means hurting their own feelings in the end.

Diary of an Oxygen Thief worked for me, despite the repetitions, rants/rambles, diversions and fourth-wall breaking, because it wasn’t sectioned. The last quarter of the book, however, seems to take on a different tone and style, and I flew through this part in one sitting because I found it fascinating. While this is by no means a literary masterpiece by Hemingway or Fitzgerald, it's a disgustingly entertaining piece that chronicles the thoughts and feelings of an ex-alcoholic misogynist who is apathetic to any form of emotional attachment and committed relationship.

If you've never dealt with the situations written about, or you aren't a little depraved yourself, it could seem shocking and uncomfortable. The narrator is now in an exclusive relationship with the French girl mentioned at the end of the previous book. It looks like he might be about to settle down and get married until the very act of going to therapy opens him up to other options. But much like his situation in his first book, “Diary of an oxygen thief,” he has no interest in commitment nor settling down.
