the romance between the two is not healthy, and it baffles me that this book is starting to trend amongst teens and be pitched as a spicy rom-com.Lovely literature right there. Especially when he proceeds to call someone else a misogynist after a few chapters of related thoughts. I shift my position against the cold pillar I’m leaning against, my entire body lax. Casual. Though deep inside, I’m coiled tight, my gaze going to her once more. Yet again. wren thought she would wait until marriage, but she starts to explore her own body and watches porn, all because crew intrigues her. i liked the slowness of this book, it allowed us to see how they progressed from kissing to touching to them falling deeply for each other. like i said there is no major plot for the characters, the major "conflict" point is wren's overprotective dad, who did not approve of their relationship. Their dates are their daddies, important men among society, who like to own things, including women. Such as their daughters. Sometime during the evening, they are put through a painful ceremony where they turn to face their fathers and repeat a vow of chastity to them while the ring is slipped onto their fingers. I genuinely thought I would hate this because of the way the first book turned out and Taz repeatedly telling me this book is shit💀 but I’m so glad I enjoyed this one. The characters, the storyline, the spice and everything in between was executed beautifully. I think what everyone will enjoy the most is how the author brings the title of the book into play. It was one of my favourite scenes and I hope someone appreciates it as much as I did! The virginity of the female lead was one of my concerns before reading. I was wary about how it would be handled—whether she'd give it away to the first boy she sees or whether she'd be heavily pressured into it but after meeting Crew, my doubts just flew out the window.

wren is studious, hard-working, and above all a rule follower. she thinks curse words are vulgar, has never been kissed, and is a daddy's girl. not only that but as a beacon of all that is purity, wren can be judgemental to girls who go off and have sex. i don’t even know when to stop pointing out the red flags bc this whole book is little red riding hood. let’s stop romanticizing toxic relationships (and books) in 2023. I’m fuming madly with this book. 2022 is truly TRYING ME in the book department. It’s starting to make me sound like a broken record but honestly what are these books? There was the whole situation with Wren who was was smart enough to read all the red flags from her teacher, to see that her “friend” was clearly involved with him to simply not do ANYTHING?! The goody two shoes who would was outspoken about misdeeds? Give me a break! honestly, this book just wasn’t for me. it all felt wrong and wired to me, and it was actually impossible for me to find any cute moments, because i hated the mc’s, therefore it was very hard to find anything involving them cute.

But beyond that I wonder what is going through the authors mind… maybe she will give him a character development? I could get behind that. BRO WTH HE KNOWS! HE IS POWERFUL HE OWNS THE SCHOOL AND HE ALLOWS THIS PERVE TO CONTINUE WORKING THERE! It did not improve through out the book. In fact I’m pretty sure all Crew and Wren had were sexual chemistry based on him being “bad” and her being untouched so he could “corrupt her” 🤮.
