About this deal

I'm in agreement with Angus in that I believe that the whole awning rail should be removed before using new sealant. It's not a major job and it will ensure that all traces of moisture and other dirt/contaminants are removed, Compatible with a wide variety of materials; rubber, glass, wood, hard plastics, existing sealants, concrete, ceramics, metals and fibreglass. Compatible with wood, fibreglass, metals, glass, rubber, ceramics, hard plastics, concrete and existing sealants In view of the fact that this material has been discussed before and pretty much universally found to be wanting, I would regard it as irresponsible to suggest that the material is in anyway suitable for his application.

I really didn`t want to reply again, BUT, I thought the idea of a forum was to exchange views and help each other, but perhaps like Ian Dunning I am also mistaken. Knowing first hand of the damage (potentially terminal) of leaving a leaking van in a porous state, I would regard it the height of irresponsibility not to make a fellow forum member fully aware of the threat to what may be their pride and joy.FAO Admin - Sorry if I have stepped out of line here, but I felt I had to answer Angus. I will not respond again in this thread. I most humbly apologise, but the original poster did mention a fact other than the original question. That fact, in my opinion, was worth comment as I have had experience of this whole sealing issue. Thanks I’ve been thinking about sorting my leaky windows since we were batterd with rain last month i’ll definitely be giving this one a go.

You did indeed, but my point was that you then also answered another question that had not been asked. I beg to differ. I had a minor leak and it did cure it. The van was still dry when sold some years later.

It’s very easy to use. Unlike normal glues and sealants there's no need to take anything apart. Just apply the sealant and it will travel to where it's needed. If he does have a leak, it certainly wont cure itI beg to differ. I had a minor leak and it did cure it. The van was still dry when sold some years later. Maybe I should just shut up and let, potentially, expensive mistakes be made? That is not my idea of helping people but I think we should let this subject return to the topic,
