About this deal

I don’t know what happened in Australia, but it’s not a problem with government in the US. It’s a problem with government in California. They have a few really bad laws on the books that created this problem. One is that it’s too easy to challenge new construction, which was done to allow the little guy to stand up to corporate interests, but wealthy communities have weaponized in the spirit of NIMBY to keep affordable housing from dragging down real estate value. I agree with other people that LEGO is trying to push the limit of becoming I profitable again; like the early 2000’s ?

Thanks to the official images released by LEGO, we can now have a better grasp of the finer aspects of this premium LEGO collectible set. It's best to just get it for free if you were planning to get something else anyway above the threshold, but I rather control when and how much I spend. And the sad part is that all of the quality issues point to cheaper manufacturing methods like those used by cheap alternative brands, while LEGO prices keep rising drastically.

Now, with the emergence of the third part, the spotlight turns to the distinctive charm of Alpine architecture. This dynamic progression promises a fascinating journey through diverse global housing styles, especially since a fourth set in this series is still expected. Overall it's another very attractive building in the series which looks great standing next to the first one, although I'm struggling to think of somewhere you'd see the two architectural styles side-by-side in real life! The chalet clearly belongs to a bodybuilder because the upstairs room is dominated by a vastly over-scaled weightlifting bench, something I've not seen in a set before.I know someone who did start building microscale MOCs of the Modular series. Then 10230 was released as a GWP that precisely duplicated his efforts…and stopped. He moved across the country soon after, so I have no idea if he ever expanded his own run.

A small bench and storage for skis surround the front door and I particularly like the tessellating logs in storage on the right. The ground floor looks suitably cosy, furnished with an L-shaped sofa around a log fire, a record player in the corner, and a sideboard on the right. Although it's not unheard of for boxes to proclaim that the set is limited edition, it is not usual. And to top it off, it’s a “meh” set of a house anyway; not something I would put on the shelves with the other pieces I have. First off, I LOVE Legos, doing with family or by myself, and I love getting all the great detail provided in your blogs. But I have to say am incredibly disappointed at some of Leif’s recent changes, especially all of these crazy price increase!! I understand that cost of production and inflation cause most of it, but the increases are not proportionally even. And then, the crazy high thresholds on the GWP is ridiculous!! It would be one thing if the GWP was worth it, extra special, unique, or exclusive… but they are not. And the fact this is just the 1st of the Houses of the World series/collections , I don’t see many people being able to afford and collect them all. And as cute as this 1st house looks, there is nothing special about it and if you are going to have houses from around the world, they should connected to its location and culture. This house could really be anywhere. Sorry, just a little frustrated and really disappointed in the GWP series. I don’t think there’s good value here, and this reeks of 76210 Hulkbuster where LEGO are trying ridiculous prices and increasing these thresholds without providing commensurate in return.
