About this deal

The Thrillogy by Todd Strasser is a trilogy of standalones, which means you can read whichever story seems to pique your interest, even if it's not the first one. But I highly recommend you read all three of them because these books are amazeballs. Unfortunately, by the 43% mark, I felt like I was forcing myself to finish a book I'd started to want to skim through because the writing felt off from the beginning. I told myself it was simple enough writing, we could get to the end and find out how this ends, but my suspicion of who the culprit was became too obvious, and I lost interest. Once I hit 50%, though, I couldn't keep going.

unsure how well the acting would translate to a more serious play but her characterisation both in the first and second act was faultless, and I am excited to see her next project. There are no red herrings or false clues to lead anyone in the wrong direction and the clue to the eventual resolution is telegraphed so clearly that you could see it in fog on a dark evening. There is also no tension, as there is never any real prospect of Grace or his wife ending up dead or seriously injured given that this is a franchise detective story. I really enjoyed this book! The pacing was great, and the mute representation was done well, (but this is coming from someone who is very much not mute…in fact a person who never stops talking🫠, so technically I can’t give a hard opinion on that…but whatever from a readers perspective it was done well) After Lucy more teens start to disappear starting with Adam, Lucy's boyfriend. Madison realizes betrayals and cheating and soon discovers what is flawless on the outside isn't always perfect beneath the surface. Soon Courtney, Madison's best friend disappears encouraging her for further investigation, she won't stop until she finds the truth. This story tells us how many bad things can happen on the internet, how cruel and crazy some people are, how from a "little bullying" can come something so bad like you couldn't imagine before, how little things can affect people's life. Everyone should be more careful what things they write on the internet because anyone can read it after they uploaded it. Unfortunately, individually the mcs didn't catch my attention. As a pair though, they were interesting to read. Their chemistry wasn't sizzling hot but they developed their own connection. Short stories are often hard to gauge if you’re used to novels and harder to quantify in terms of impact and value.

The first act does well to build the suspicion of something being seriously wrong, aided by well-timed lighting cues and ominous swells of sinister music. The set design by Michael Holt adds a gloomy and threatening feel to the scenes which are being played out, giving an unmistakeable sense of impending doom. It is very reminiscent of And Then There Were None and The Mousetrap but the dialogue and the pacing of the storytelling The chapters are short which helps to move the story along at super speed. The point of views change from the anonymous blogger, to Madison and then best of all, we get to hear what the kidnapper/killer is saying to his or her captives (we don't know who the killer is until the end).

What’s next for Roy Grace?

Wish You Were Dead has definitely whetted my appetite to go and read Peter James books and was pretty entertaining but overall it really didn’t do it for me. It is a well-put-together show with a great cast, but the story just wasn’t right. To my mind, and again without giving anything away, there were some rather large plot holes that didn’t really make sense either in the overall narrative or the characters we came to. I was glad after all that this was a standalone, because I could wait a minute longer to find the answers to all the mysteries. I really enjoyed the blog posts of Str-S-d, and the different PoVs, it just gave you an insight on everyone's mind. Also that ending was like a good old horror movie. Im Nachhinein ist es wirklich ein ziemliches gutes Buch. Es hatte keine Längen. Das Ende war zwar schon etwas abrupt, aber das machte jetzt auch nichts aus. James is very active in his community. He has been involved in twenty-six movies (including The Merchant of Venice), is a chairman of the Brighton and Hove Drugs Commission, helps out with the local neighborhood watch, is an Ambassador for Brighton University, and helps with Action Medical Research. He also donated a police car to the Sussex Police in 2008.

I loved the morgue opening and the dark humour, son Bruno, brings to the sense of an unfolding “biblical” drama.urn:lcp:wishyouweredead00stra:epub:d6432ec0-78ec-4171-8557-01461db4cd2c Extramarc University of Alberta Libraries Foldoutcount 0 Identifier wishyouweredead00stra Identifier-ark ark:/13960/t4hm9cd41 Invoice 1213 Isbn 9781606840078 The cover of Wish You Were Dead is absolutely appropriate. The book was creepy, disturbing, yet alluring: after reading a little bit I didn't want to put the book down until I had finished the entire thing. Its main strong point was the kidnapping/serial killer plot line, which was the sole factor that kept me interested through the duration of the novel. they showed me what two people molded together are. there were so many parts where i felt as if my heart was being ripped apart into pieces and i was being stabbed half to death okay. there was this one quote that made me stupid smile, "that makes us, jane and rowan." i wanted to sob tbh. I've been eagerly waiting for this moment. Me reading this after all the teasers miss girl Jaclin have been posting and being selected to be one of the ARC readers is really an honor ♡

The story is told from Madison’s point of view, at least most of the time. Sometimes it switched around to the other teens involved but not often. It also switched when one of the teens was being kidnapped. It was written from their point of view when it was happening. It made the book seem a lot scarier because you saw what they were going through and you saw how helpless they were to fight. It was horrible. This was a new to me author and I enjoyed her book. One thing I should state though is the plot line had either holes, loose ends, or in some cases things mentioned were left unexplained and characters were unreasonably introduced.
