About this deal

The plot was not really that intriguing ..i lost interest at 75% but kept on reading but it was not really that worth it so.. Now for the heroine she was perfect and I really loved her and If we take away all the ow drama the book was literally perfect im sad she ruined it with her owns hands because him being with all these ow did nothing to bring more love or romance to the book. It just ruined everything I didn’t even enjoy them kissing and having sex because he went to see her only a couple of hours after he had a threesome. I didn't really care if Hunter was hooking up with Britt and other girls prior to getting together with Marley. Like he wasn't exclusive with anyone. Mans was a single man and there is such a thing as casual sex and dating. He did nothing wrong in that aspect, he wasn't leading anyone on and he wasn't cheating. Burkett Expects to Slug His Way to Top of Eastern Heap,” Hartford (Connecticut) Courant, April 20, 1924: 38.

In early February 1925, Lane was listed as a Braves prospect. 31 However, by month’s end, he was released by Boston, along with eight-year veteran Ray Powell. 32 Lane declined an invitation from Knoxville manager Frank Moffett to play once again with the Pioneers, instead settling in Memphis and playing independent ball on the weekends. 33 I’m sorry but who is in love with Hunter????????? Like whooooo? Because there’s no way someone fell in love with him. There’s nothing to fall in love with!!!! He’s a terrible human! Marley literally gets treated like a doormat for 98% of the book. She accepts whatever Hunter says or does because she "has a good heart, god bless her". Hunter treats her like she's a 10-year-old, calling her Bambi ("because she has big eyes"), Minnie, saying she's half his height, that she has small feet and other cringe-worthy things. He treats her like a dog but does not allow, from day one, any other man to approach her or go out with her. He, on the other hand, continues to sleep with other girls (whom he treats as mere sexual objects) almost until the end of the book. I thought this book had potential to be a great book. The plotline had was really good and if it was developed more and given more attention to some issues the characters went through I would’ve given this book a 4 or 5 stars

Follow us on:

one thing i hate more than… peas. or the texture of broccoli. IS DOORMAT WOMEN AND HOE-ING MEN. guess what this book had? 😠 GUESS 😠 But if a guy treats me like shit or makes me feel small just for TRYING to help him get out of his ass?

After they kissed for the first time the rest of the book is basically all s** scenes and absolutely no character development. He just stopped drinking even though he had a serious drinking problem all bc he’s dating her? And their relationship just simply worked with no issues even though they both have incredible amounts of issues??? I really enjoyed the story and my heart dropped at a certain part toward the end...so that was fun... Also does this man even work???? Because it is mentioned that he works for his dad but how does he ever managed to work when he’s always drunk??? Also Marley’s marketing skills were so GREAT that she was able to help the Lane family open multiple businesses in like less than 2 months HAHAHAH How realistic. Also Hunter really sent a picture of Marley’s behind to her ex to let him know what he’s missing??????? Like what?? If it wasn’t for the lateness of the hour I would have completed this book in one sitting. You know how else I knew I loved this book? I had an intense frown on my face (and constantly being asked are you ok!?!) because I was so engrossed with Mar and Hunter. m sorry but I was really excited for this book and I was so happy when I finally found out it came out but reading it really let me down. For example when Marley called the authorities on Hunter for drunk driving it made it seem like the blame was all on her and she was in the wrong when really it was him. He blamed her the whole time and she thought she was in the wrong too and I just made me so angry because it was not her fault at all. Lane and Nic seemed to have a good working relationship until Nic discovered that Lane's patients were being over treated as part of an insurance fraud scheme. Nic's further research into the matter leads to her not being allowed to treat any more of Lane's patients. When Lane finds out that Nic has passed on the name of another oncologist to Lily Kendall, she mysteriously allows Nic supervise Lily's care again. However, Lily dies shortly after, as Lane was last seen going into Lily's room. It is unknown what Lane had done whilst in Lily's room. However, it is hinted upon that Dr. Hunter altered the potassium drip to complete the full drip in thirty minutes instead of eight hours. [3] the main thing that pissed me off was the fact THAT SOMETHING HAPPENS WHEN THERES ONLY 5 CHAPTERS LEFT LIKE WTF hate when authors do that LIKE WHATS THE POINT because then when that happens i always feel like the ending is rushed, it feels empty or boring. Also, his dad, stepmom, best friend and everyone in town should get arrested for letting him drive drunk practically every day. Like yea I get that your mom died but why are his family/friends normalizing the fact that he goes to the bar every single day and also don’t speak up when he drives drunks every day even though a DRUNK DRIVER was the reason the mom died???? I seriously never hated a love interest until I read this book.

Um..so i follow this author on tiktok and was really hyped about this book but * sighs * it was a let down :(

After, Nic finds a man with a grocery delivery on her front porch, which he insists on giving her. She threatens to call the police, he wishes her goodnight and calls her by her full name. It is assumed that Lane hired him to do so. [6]

I sought out validation from people who didn't like me. I gave second chances to people who didn't deserve it. I turned a blind eye to manipulation because I mistook it for affection." Dodo’ Lane is Sold to Boston Nationals,” Knoxville (Tennessee) News-Sentinel, September 10, 1923: 3. This book was marketed all over TikTok as something COMPLETELY different. This is barely a romance. The author made it seem as if Hunter was going to be some avenging hero for our FMC, after a shitty ex boyfriend. Turns out Hunter was even worse IMO. Lane and Randolph spend time together at his apartment, happy together. However, Randolph is presented with evidence of Lane’s criminal behavior, and the FBI have been informed, who will soon have a warrant to search Lane’s clinic. Randolph questions Lane about what she’s been up to, and she tearfully nearly confesses to her poor treatment of patients. He tells Lane to get rid of the evidence at her clinic, but it is revealed that he let her get rid of the evidence at the same time as the FBI arrives to arrest her. [2] Professional [ ] Conrad Hawkins [ ] Britt- the girl Hunter sleeps with for most of the book who doesn’t actually matter in the long run. She’s sort of the OW, but she plays no real role in the plot other than Hunter imaging Marley when he’s with Britt. That’s it. Britt is literally never brought up again after Hunter sleeps with Marley for the first time. 🙄omg just remembered hated him so much in the beginning like rude asf for no reason and him saying that she demanded them to fix her car… WHEN SHE LITERALLY DID NOT WANT ANY OF THAT TO HAPPEN LIKE SHE JUST WANTED TO CALL A CAB. I liked Hunters character development and how obsessed he was with Marley. I did not like how much and how detailed OW encounters there were, it was hard to imagine this playboy detached guy going to obsessed mode for Marley in a matter of a few letters, it just didn’t have the grovel or emotional impact I wanted to see. Marley also did not have the character development I wanted, she spent a lot of the book saying how she won’t make decisions based on a man, but all her decisions were. The last thing that really took me out of the story was the POVs from Adam and Dex, it just wasn’t my thing. Overall the book has some decent ideas and has some things that I thought were super cute. I loved Hunter buying our FMC, Marley, Starburst and playing games to get her to eat the candy, knowing she restricted herself for years (and still does) due to her upbringing with her parents. The plot is basically: men can sleep around & it’s cool. Women have to cater to men & wait until he’s ready to commit. We were promised a strong, sexy, and traumatized love interest with Hunter; All I noticed was the trauma. I was not rooting for him in the slightest. He was hateful, arrogant, boastful, and just angry.
