About this deal

As with all monitors, the Odyssey G7 requires some assembly before you can use it. Fortunately, it isn’t a complicated process, and you’ll be up and running in a few minutes. Plus, I’m not a huge fan of having the OSD controls in the centre and below the display; I’d prefer them to be on the right- or left-hand edges, making them easier to reach. However, if you connect the monitor via USB, it’s possible to control the OSD, more conveniently via software so it’s not a massive problem. Bixby US English, UK English, India English, Korean, French, German, Italian, Spanish, BR Portuquese (features vary by language) Those caveats aside, this remains a pretty fabulous gaming panel. If you’re looking for a 1440p monitor, and price isn’t really an issue, the G7 should almost certainly be on your shortlist. But it is all a reminder, not only of the ultimate limitations of LCD technology, but also the care needed when making assumptions, both for better and worse.

Speaking of LCD curvature, the G7’s super-tight 1000R panel is certainly a defining feature and arguably an opinion splitter. It’s much more curved than most equivalent monitors, which are usually in the 1500R to 1800R range. By other metrics, the G7 is more conventional, albeit at the cutting edge of convention. Other less exciting features include customisable RGB lighting at the rear surrounding the pivot point on the stand and shining down from the bottom edge of the panel. This is, thankfully, pretty subtle and can be disabled entirely if you wish. You’ll need to get the Phillips-head screwdriver from your toolbox to assemble the 32-inch Samsung Odyssey G7. The Odyssey’s VA panel has a matte finish, which all but eliminates the worst glare and, in normal use without the fancy HDR mode enabled, it delivers excellent image quality. Even with overdrive maxxed out, the Samsung Odyssey G7 C27G7 suffers from little to no pixel overshoot. Impressive (Image credit: Samsung )The Samsung Odyssey G7 looks like it could be a dream display for gamers looking to avoid any FOMO given that for most folk hunting for the best gaming monitor, the market is split into two distinct areas that depend mostly on what genres you play and how you want to optimize your experience. Samsung Odyssey G7 Curved Gaming Monitor. Engineered for victory with 240Hz RapidCurve, 1ms response time and G-Sync compatibility to raise you to the top of your game. The curve revolution 1000R, the new apex of curved screen technology, matches the contours of the human eye for unimaginable realism. First, attach the base to the upright with its captive bolt. Next, mate the panel with four more bolts. Then, a ring split in two pieces goes on the stand’s pivot point. It lights up when you turn the power on for a neat textured look. After you’ve made cable connections, a cover goes over the input panel, and you can hide the wires inside the upright for a super-clean look. To put it another way, this is a monitor that doubles down on the basic concept of an LCD monitor for high performance visuals and specifically gaming. Five years ago the future looked like it was going to be OLED. The responsiveness of the panel is equally impressive. With its 1ms GTG response time (unusually fast for a VA panel), and 240Hz refresh rate, there’s absolutely no smearing or blurring to be seen at all.

Other than that, there’s very little to dislike about the Samsung Odyssey G7. It has impressive image quality across the board, it looks wonderful in HDR, plus it’s super responsive and very smooth in the fastest paced games. My old LG 32" 4K Monitor is no curved and only capable of 60Hz. I'm looking forward to upgrade it ;) And there’s also a hook that can be folded out at the rear of the stand, which is handy for keeping your headset out of the way and your desk free of clutter. Samsung Odyssey G7 32in review: What’s image quality like? also provides pretty weak pixel density at 32 inches, but I find most games are pretty forgiving in this respect, and the increase to 32 inches is well worth it if you can stomach the less sharp visuals in desktop work. (Especially since you can supersample your games for a sharper image, provided you have enough GPU horsepower). Admin said:The Samsung Odyssey G7 C32G75T 32-inch gaming monitor has an extreme 1000R curve and other premium specs to match, resulting in competition-level gaming performance with low input lag.Choose from a range of networks and inclusive monthly plans to get started with your new Galaxy phone straight away. The stand is substantial. There’s is a bit of wobble at the pivot point, but no more than one would expect from such a large panel. Adjustments include 4.7 inches of height, 15 degree swivel to either side, 9/13 degree tilt and a portrait mode. We’re not sure when one would use a 1000R curved monitor in portrait mode, but if you think of a reason, this is one of the only such screens that can do it.

You can also set the USB ports to remain active when the power’s off to charge devices. Recommended Calibration Settings If you want a high refresh rate for buttery-smooth graphics or to give you an edge in competitive titles like Apex Legends and Call Of Duty: Warzone then you're usually limited to a 1080p resolution. On the flip side, anyone wanting to enjoy crazy 4K graphics on games like Red Dead Redemption 2 will have to reel in that refresh rate to something around the 60Hz mark, RPI/CPI Price Increase - Each year, your Pay Monthly airtime tariff will be adjusted according to Three's Fixed Annual Price Change (Three), the Retail Price Index (O2) or Consumer Price Index (EE, Vodafone) rate of inflation.
