About this deal

The game is suitable for two players, but it is certainly more fun when more people play since it increases the chances of two players collecting the same suit. Do you have to have the same suit in Blitz? Card games fit nicely into a purse or glove box for marathon waiting times. Perfect for the doctor’s office orwhile waiting at a restaurant. But it’s often heated enough that some people will slightly argue. It’s all in good fun most of the time, but it’s a great opportunity to save time too (or lose it). Cards can be played in the center of the table in a Dutch pile. Every Dutch pile is started with a #1 card of any color. Whenever a player encounters a #1 card they must play it to the center of the table to form an additional Dutch pile. Additional cards may be placed on any Dutch pile as long as it is the same color as the Dutch pile and the number is exactly one higher than the top card on the pile. For example only a red three card can be played on a Dutch pile with a red two as the top card.

When you cannot use any of your Blitz or post piles cards, count off three cards from your woodpile and use them to move on. Dutch Blitz is a points-based card game and can be played with between 2 to 4 people. Players earn points by playing the cards in their Blitz pile. Games are usually played over several rounds, and the first player to reach the agreed-upon score (usually 75 points) will win the game. The Set Up The goal is to collect cards of the same suit, so, logically, you get rid of the others. Nevertheless, since you aim to gather 31 points, sometimes you drop even cards from a ‘good’ suit if their value is small. Why We Love It: Blitz is simple, fast, and fun. It is an ideal introduction to card games for any beginner.

If you have 31 points in hand, you should reveal it as soon as you can (in the next turn). In some variations of Blitz, you even get penalized for not revealing Blitz immediately. Other Similar Games to Blitz (Our Guides) Usually, the game is played over several rounds, and the player who reaches 75 points first will win! However, shorter one-round games are also popular.

Seeing the colors and cards in Dutch Blitz gets easier with time, and the more you play, the more you’re able to process the game as a whole, rather than just what you have.

The remaining cards a player holds in their hand will be their Wood Pile, and the playing space in the center will be the primary playing space for the Dutch Piles. Now once all this is done, you are ready to start playing. Playing Dutch Blitz Are you looking for more games similar to Blitz? Each player will count his cards that were played onto the Dutch Piles and give this figure to the scorekeeper. And I’d be on a constant lookout for anyone to start a Green 1 pile, so I could jump on it right away.
