I use my Logitech G27 on a desk. I have a box with weights behind my pedal assembly that sits between the pedal assembly and the room’s wall. I have heavy boxes placed behind my desk chair (Sparco racing seat on an office chair base) that prevent my seat from moving around when I’m braking. It is essential that both your pedal assembly and seat are completely secured if you are going to use this mod. With the TrueBrake mod, you can achieve better control over braking inputs. The progressive resistance allows for more precise modulation, making it easier to apply the desired amount of braking force consistently. Now once installed the brake is Hard and I would say if you don’t have a rigid sim frame it could be an issue as the force required is substantial. So if you have a foldable playseat the frame will definitely move under braking. To find the right handbrake for your racing rig on PC, PS4 or Xbox One, there are a lot of compatibility guides you need to go through. The handbrake should be compatible with 1. Your racing wheel, 2. Your platform (PC/PS4/Xbox) and 3. The game you wish to play. About a month ago, I started racing regularly with some local AutoX friends in ACC on PC. I kept getting dusted by guys who are about the same level of driving skill as me in real life. Forza Horizon 5 is fun however you play, but a full wheel setup is the way to go. Although I chose the Logitech G920 for it’s Microsoft game friendly Xbox buttons, there’s a known issue in game where the buttons are not labeled correctly. Instead of ‘X’ button, for example, I get ‘Button 1’. It is still much easier to remember what named buttons on the new wheel (old one were all just red). I can’t compare this to a real load cell brake pedal as I’ve never used one but from what I’ve read and heard it does seem to provide a similar load related braking effect.
