About this deal

Rock ‘n’ Roll Royalty: The Music and Artists Behind ELVIS (HD, 7:33) – This goes over the other musicians featured in the film and the way they approached recreating and presenting the music in the movie.

Ambient noises of fans screaming and yelling, music playing in a city club, or of stage lights turning on all sound off nicely. It's breathless, especially in its opening act, where time periods slip and slide across each other as Parker’s narration gets the audience up to speed with Presley, and it could so easily disorientate… but it somehow seems a perfect match for the sequin-festooned, gaudily glamorous excess of Elvis’s life that, together with its established structure of taking part in Parker’s drug-induced mind, presents Presley in almost the only way that it could. One thing that really sets this film apart from any other biographies about Elvis is the fact that the actor here (Austin Butler) actually performed the songs himself for the most part mixed in with some of the real-life Elvis. Facial textures are excellent, with the individual hairs of Butler’s superlative mutton chops nicely delineated, as are some of the outrageous make up appliances (some purposeful, some…not so). So, it’s not far off when he discusses that all in the film and was just changed up for dramatic impact. Luhrmann has never bowed down to Hollywood executives to compromise his stunning vision in telling stories everyone knows by heart, whether it be his own version of Romeo + Juliet, a take on Moulin Rogue!

All and all, I actually love the film and that’s coming from a lifelong fan of Elvis Presley’s music and someone who has visited Graceland for that very reason. Austin Butler's transformation is more than just a remarkable achievement—it's a testament to the magic of cinema and the incredible talents that breathe life into it. Grain is added in (as none is naturally present due to its digital origins) and it’s amazing what they can do with this now – granted, it’s never overt (apart from when the use of lower res footage is included by design) but it’s there, it’s mostly very fine and it does indeed help give the impression of film. The sound effects are robust and loud, whether it be one of the vehicles driving past screaming fans, mic checks at concerts and at stadiums, or a strum of the guitar string.Others however may not quite so quick to overlook these… and of course, there simply isn’t enough room for the myriad of other characters in Presley’s life to make much of a mark, including Richard Roxburgh’s’ father and Olivia De Jonge’s Priscilla. Fit for a King: The Style of ELVIS (HD, 8:02) – “So much of my work became influenced by what I was wear” Austin Butler says as we enter this featurette about the costuming and set design on the film. A Digital Copy of the film is included via a paper insert with a redeem code, which is compatible with either AppleTV (iTunes) or Vudu. He also says Elvis was polite, and took direction from Curtiz, “because he knew he was working with a veteran. All along the way, you’ll feel a very deep amount of bass in the speakers as well as strong LFE coming from the subwoofer.

No, its not an impression or mimicry, there’s a desire to give this thing a soul and it just emanates a vibe throughout the film that sucks you and impresses you from time to time with some nontraditional choices.

hit “Hard Headed Woman,” was recorded on January 15, 1958 and filmed on the Paramount soundstage, but mysteriously cut from the film. Starring: Austin Butler , Tom Hanks , Olivia DeJonge , Helen Thomson , Richard Roxburgh , Kelvin Harrison Jr. Warner’s HEVC-encoded 2160p transfer includes all three flavors of high dynamic range – HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision.

There are 11 original songs, including the opener “Crawfish,” a duet Elvis sings with a street merchant, played by jazz singer Kitty White. Danny is an “open-hearted guy” who, during the opening sequence, steps out onto the second-floor balcony of the family apartment overlooking the French Quarter and “gets a friendly wave from one of the ladies of the night,” says Maltin. Regardless of how you view it, in whichever HDR form, it looks phenomenal in 4K with an extraordinary amount of detail, most especially in facial close-ups.

Elvis has some great elements to it, mostly Butler's performance and the music selections and sequences that Luhrmann has conjured up under his own beautiful, glitzy, unique style. Baz Luhrmann has crafted a stylistic dream of a cinematic experience, bringing together all his experience of Moulin Rouge’s musical explosion and The Great Gatsby’s peak into the soul of a larger-than-life character and produced a sensorial feast that offers a tantalising look behind the curtain of the battle for one of music’s most legendary souls. His father, played by veteran character Dean Jagger, has been fired four times in the last year and lost his own pharmacy business after Danny’s mother died.
