But I'm not falling in love with her piece by piece anymore. I'm in love with the whole girl. Every single piece of her.” While so much of this book is just completely new, even the scenes that are the same as in Hopeless feel SO special when you read them because a) they are just awesome scenes to relive period, and b) the slightly different angle on them gives them just enough of a twist to make you fall in love with them all over again. The series is an absolute must read. You'll fall in love with the characters, the writing, and the story. The personalities of these two characters and the thoughts they possess are so vastly different; hearing them tell accounts of the same events is gripping. No, babe,” he says nervously. “I’m at Jaxon’s house.” There’s a long pause while he listens to her speak. “I know that’s what I said, but I lied. That’s why I’m calling. Les, I… I think we need some space.”

Chapter 54: Chapter Thirty-nine, Chapter Thirty-nine-and-a-half, Chapter Thirty-nine-and-three-quarters Now you might tell me "Rose, those are completely different stories and scenarios versus the story that Colleen Hoover's telling here," and you would be correct, but there's a reason why I point it out. Both of the examples I cited above tell a single story from multiple viewpoints in one expansion, or a collection of intersecting stories set in one environment but with shared experiences. This is very hard to pull off.We are there with him every painful step of the way and afforded a truly different version through Holders voice. And what a beautiful, tragic, heartbreaking, yet at times very witty and fabulous story this is. Hold onto your hearts in this one folks because it will be shattered. Hearing Holder express the depth of sorrow that has consumed him broke my heart. The book starts right before Les, Holder's twin sister, makes a decision that will shatter Holder and his family's life, again. He is the boy who lost Hope and he could never recover himself from that, and now, he is completely broken. Honestly, I knew I was going to like Losing Hope, but I was afraid that it was going to be a lot like Hopeless, and therefore, a little boring. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Yes, some parts were the same but it was also different looking at it from Holder’s POV.

Holder soon befriends Sky and starts to spend more time with her, but Sky herself doesn't seem to have any idea who Holder is. She doesn't remember anything from what happened before she was taken away from her home and family when she was just five years old. The more time they spend together, the more Holder starts to fall in love with the girl Sky is now and the more he wishes that she wouldn't be Hope so that their present won't be affected by the events that happened in the past. It is really hard for me to review this book since it's one of my favorite books ever.Hopeless and losing hope show us the same events but from differents POVs.In this book we have Holder's POV and I was kind of expecting it to be like the first book but NO.Even though the events are almost the same his book is different and I dont think you will get the feeling of reading the same book.At least that's how I felt.I fell in love again with him and Sky.There were those parts where I knew exactly what will happen and yet I cried a river and for this reason I love the author.LOL dont worry I'm not a masochist but the fact that I got the same feelings like I was reading it for the first time means a lot. I can't stop living, breathing and feeling this story. Losing Hope was just absolute, beautiful perfection. Sky and Holder are initially drawn together by lust and a mutual fascination with one another, but Holder’s mood swings and mixed signals soon begin to confuse Sky. As the skeletons begin to come out of each of their closets, both the past and present become much clearer for this young couple.I got absolute chills with reading about the best first kiss dialogue. You guys know what I mean! The escalating chemistry, the want, the desire, the connection… all culminating in such beautiful moments between them both. My own heart was racing and I couldn’t believe how much I loved Holder through it all. Now, if I thought my expectations couldn’t be surpassed with Slammed, Point of Retreat, This Girl and Hopeless….well, I was completely wrong because in Losing Hope this author once again astounded me with her brilliance and Losing Hope did indeed exceed my expectations. There are not enough accolades to express how wonderfully moving this book was. This book follows Sky, a sheltered former foster child who is entering public school for her senior year after being homeschooled her whole life, and Holder, the brooding bad boy who seems to have a secretive past. Hopeless was hands down one of the best books I have ever read. It touched me so profoundly and so irrevocably that I walked away a different reader. The story of Sky and Holder is not something that you ever forget – its uniqueness lies in the deep emotions that it makes us feel and in its inimitable writing style. It is truly the perfect book. Losing Hope is its sequel, written entirely from Holder’s point of view, but following the same storyline. It is not a book, however, that could or should be read without reading Hopeless first as several scenes are better understood with prior knowledge of Sky’s story, allowing this book to simply fill the gaps in the timeline and for Holder to finally tell his side of this timeless tale of love, courage and human endurance.

A Raw Blog Post". ColleenHoover.com. Archived from the original on October 30, 2014 . Retrieved October 30, 2014. This book follows the exact plot line of the first book from a different point of view. Narrated by Holder, our broody leading man from Hopeless, we hear of how he first meets Sky and all the events and unravel thereafter, with a different twist. She’s stronger than I give her credit for, though. She didn’t attempt to call him last night and she’s made no attempt to call him today. She didn’t get much sleep last night, so she went to her room before lunch to nap. However, I’ve been pausing outside her bedroom door throughout the day just to make sure I couldn’t hear her on the phone, so I know she hasn’t made any attempts to call him. At least while I’ve been home. In fact, I’m pretty sure the heartless phone call from him last night was exactly what she needed to finally see him for who he really is.So, I'm torn. I don't know whether to give this 1 star or 1.5 stars. I definitely do not think it was as strong as the first book in what it provided, but I need to think about what the experience gave me as to how I'll rate it in the end. Suffice to say, I'm disappointed. Colleen Hoover's talent for writing vivid and effortlessly beautiful stories is astounding. The level of emotions conveyed in each chapter just took my breath away over and over again. She has a gift for bringing everything to life with her words and can write even the simplest scene in such a way that the words just sink right into your heart. Ok,I know it has nothing to do with the review but I feel like writing a letter to Les and to every Les that might read it :) Never Never, a 2015 collaboration with Tarryn Fisher, was originally split into three parts and sold as three separate books. The work was later republished as one complete book. [ citation needed]

Colleen Hoover can do no wrong in my book. I've read and loved each and every single one of her books and they were all brilliant, and Losing Hope was no exception. Hopeless was one of my favorite books of 2012 and reading the story again from Holder's POV made me exactly remember why.I just love the way CoHo writes her books. There's an honesty and openness, coupled with her effortless prose that makes reading her books easy. Easy in a sense that the story just flows wonderfully, from the highs to the lows, through the conflicts and resolutions without the reader ever feeling duped or short-changed. There are no purple prose here, folks. It's just concise and straightforward writing. Nothing more. And it works every time. It's definitely worth reliving Holder and Sky's story all over again.
